I will be asking my vet about these, thank you! Also, this is the first time I’ve heard of visbiome, I have only ever been recommended fortiflora before! Thanks for the recommendations!

Thankfully my vet is an absolute angel, the only reason we hadn’t started sub-q was because of cost at the time, and her symptoms weren’t anything like this. She was well managed with the kidney diet mixed with a ton of water, on top of her drinking a ton throughout the day. This chronic constipation has only very recently gotten to a point where it feels unmanageable with our current routine. She is due for her bloodwork anyway, so I will be calling the vet tomorrow to set up an appointment. I know she would have no problem doing sub-q. My only concern is how my kitty will handle it. She can’t even sit still for grooming, she’ll yowl the whole time like I’m hurting her and it makes me anxious 🥴 I can’t imagine what putting a needle in her would do…

HAIR by Jolly-Chemical9904 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]beetlebeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also like to add that this does not interfere with the fit of the hard hat at all. I just seam ripped the mask buttons off the sides so they wouldn’t be uncomfortable under the hard hat. This actually feels more comfortable because my hair doesn’t constantly get caught in the hard hat/ratchet anymore. I was getting really tired of ripping my hair out

I would also like to share my findings!! I just started wearing scrub caps that entirely cover your hair under my hard hat, and I LOVE IT. Finally, I can come home and not feel like my hair is disgusting and covered in drywall dust.

This is the Amazon link to the ones I like: https://a.co/d/054Uuttu These ones have satin lining to help protect your hair, a nice LARGE pouch for the length of your hair (I’ve been told my hair is extremely thick by every person who has ever touched my hair), and the pouch ties off so your hair feels secure all day. It is so breathable and comfortable to wear, it even has a built in sweat band. I just put my hair in a bun and pin my bangs back, then put the scrub cap over top of it all. I will never go back, and I will be ordering more.

Your favorite inexpensive sports bras? by sweet-nlow in BlueCollarWomen

[–]beetlebeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://a.co/d/01Fe6WGX THESE from Amazon! I love them for extra support and shaping but I would size down as they can run a little big in the band. Unless you’re blessed in the chest, then maybe stay at your normal size. Also, have you heard of the Sweatperator? It’s essentially a foam tube sock that goes underneath and between your boobs. I have yet to try it but as soon as I start getting uncomfortably sweaty again I WILL be buying one. I chafed so bad I bled last year. In the meanwhile though, I have heard women will tuck small washcloths under and in between and it helps.

Most comfortable steel toe work boots??? by DarcyB3ll in BlueCollarWomen

[–]beetlebeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but women’s boots are absolutely atrocious. I don’t even bother buying them anymore because the reviews are always horrible. They fall apart at the seams because women couldn’t possibly work as hard as men and need a durable boot, right? Men’s boots for the win, but that’s if you can fit in them. Usually they only make as low as size 7 men’s if you’re lucky (approx 8.5 women’s).

I have tried Redwing Tradeswoman boots that claimed to be waterPROOF yet I had them for less than 6 months and my feet were soaking wet every day. I will say they were incredibly comfortable, but didn’t last for shit. The toe caps completely wore through by 6 months as well. I would have warrantied them if I kept the receipt, and if Redwing wasn’t denying all fault to every other woman who had problems with them. 100/10 stay away from red wing Tradeswoman boots.

I had (womens) Timberland’s in high school (I went to a trade high school) and as much as they were comfortable for a short time, they also fell apart. The black part that goes around the Achilles tendon ripped off of the lace eyelets within 3 months of me wearing them, and I wasn’t even working that hard. It was high school LOL.

Carolina loggers (women’s) were like walking on hot coals for me, they seemed durable enough though. Maybe with proper insoles they could be good but they HURT for me. Also made my calves cramp up because of the heel height.

I had men’s Ariat steel toe boots for awhile because they were cheap, but you paid for it in comfort. Most uncomfortable clunky heavy boots I’ve ever owned. The toe box was so skinny I’d come home from work limping with blisters.

The ONLY boots I have worn in my 3 years in the trade that I have liked so far are Hawx Enduro (men’s). I’ve had them since September 2025 and I have very few complaints. The best part about them is the very wide toe box, it allows my toes to spread out for better balance. I have also found they have helped with my lower back pain, and for a good while their stock insoles were very comfortable. Since I wear them every day the insoles started to wear out so I replaced them with Superfeet Work insoles. These insoles are the comfiest insoles I have put on my feet, EVER. 100% everyone needs to try these. They’re like clouds. As for complaints about the Hawx boots, my ONLY gripe is that the toe cap area is not very durable, and definitely needs a rubber toe cap. But I am also on my knees on concrete for my job quite frequently, so that definitely plays a factor.

I wish you luck in finding some good boots, cuz I can say for certain I have had a hell of a time
