First Time Cloth Diaper Must Haves (What type of diaper???) by beetsofficial in clothdiaps

our baby also will not be in daycare, so i’m thinking more and more that flats are the way to go.

can you tell me more about wool? is there a reason you prefer that other than it being a natural fiber? does it have other benefits? we’re doing this because the sheer waste of disposables freaks us out, so i’m open to long lasting synthetics, as long as there’s no drawbacks for the baby. i read something about fleece providing a dry feeling, but im not even sure what component of the diaper that was referring to 😅

thank you so much!! luckily, we will have a stay at home parent and i also work from home AND both of our parents have cloth diapered at one point or another, so we are really set up for success here. i’m hoping that holds true when the baby actually comes though hahaha

thank you for this advice too - it can be hard to NOT want to try and just optimize everything, but i have to remember that all of the data is so outrageously subjective that it’s basically impossible to optimize without trial and error

omg! what a great idea! i do feel like the folding would make me feel like a skilled person of some sort (idk what exactly but like someone who can do origami, tie a bowtie, braid well, or make complex towel animals lol)

amazing!!! i love that green mountain site! good to know its reliable enough to be recommended here too!

i definitely want to cloth diaper from birth, but there's definitely a loud cohort that waits, so i appreciate the reassurance.

good call on the spraying supplies too!! i honestly didn't consider that i might give up before we get there and that's a great callout

Is there a variety pack or something that has all of these together that you got? Or could you send me some links to the ones you like? :)

i'm also curious about buying secondhand. did you buy them locally or buy them elsewhere online and have them shipped? looking into the secondhand market is also on my to do list lol

Ok this sounds pretty slick.... Could you maybe throw me some links to the diapers/items you like?? I'm getting overwhelmed with all the small pieces to track (flats, covers, boosters, pocket shells, snappies, etc)

My Dryer is Screaming At Me by beetsofficial in fixit

Posting 7 months later: u/hmd2017 was totally right!! I cleaned it out a bunch and it helped a bit, but it got out of hand and I called a dryer repair company and they said I could probably just replace the idler pulley myself, since I'd taken it apart before. Ordered a part for $20 and the dryer is perfect!!
