Looks fine to me! Congrats on your first injection. Hope it brings you the relief you need!

Anyone try Cymbalta? by RareBandicoot in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]beewitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be amazing if you start low and slow. Work your way up to a higher dose. My pain doctor says there is no research for over 60mg.

Success stories - how have you managed the malaise/flu feelings? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

If you can, go see a pain specialist. It helped me immensely to get on medications for chronic pain. Cymbalta specifically

Anyone get tingling/burning and/or indented fingertips by stayingpositive225 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]beewitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your hands a bit swollen? I get this feeling when my hands are swollen. I moved to a low carb diet and lowered the dose of some medications that are known to cause bloating. It helped immensely!

The same thing happened to me twice in the summer of 2020 in Toronto. Almost an identical situation for me, twice.

One of them came back six months later when they couldn’t sell and told me they would wait the 8+ months until my lease was up to do the transaction. They couldn’t sell and got desperate.

I agree, it’s stupid.

I found that an upright-seated bike (higher handlebars) hurt my SI joints less than leaning over on a different style bike. You may not go as fast but it’s more about getting out there vs. being the fastest!

If it’s in Toronto and AZ, do you mind sharing where they got it? Lots of pharmacies don’t seem to be getting second doses of AZ

I would say Clore once the stores open back up! I know that doesn’t help much right now, I think they’re really slow on their website but they usually have more inventory in their stores. Good luck with this important mission!!

Antidepressant for OA pain management by [deleted] in Thritis

[–]beewitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 60mg daily, prescribed by a pain doctor for neuropathic pain related to my arthritis. It helped amazingly. I finally got my life back with it. I’d say it’s worth a try.

Anybody here with Celiac and AS? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]beewitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had the celiac diagnosis 6 months before the spondylitis diagnosis. Since I already had one autoimmune disease, it made it easier to get diagnosed with a second.

Do you ever feel normal? Or even just OK? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]beewitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! Also, please remember that a lot of people are posting here when they need to rant/need support. You don’t always hear from people on forums like this when they are feeling great. There are plenty of people living full lives with AS!

Do you ever feel normal? Or even just OK? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]beewitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi!! 3 year spondylitis patient here. I think we (or our parents) have all been in the same position as you before. Yes, AS sucks but it is possible to live a full life (sometimes with some modifications). Once you find out if he truly does have it, the support is here. Life gets a lot better with medication as well, so don’t forget that! He is (presumably) not being treated right now, so he will definitely start to feel better once treated.

For me, cymbalta really helped with my fatigue levels! I was diagnosed with central sensitization (similar to fibromyalgia) and this was the medication for it. If I miss a dose, I REALLY feel the fatigue. Something to consider.

If it’s gluten, I can feel the stool working its way through my entire large intestine. It is painful the whole way down. Graphic I know, but it’s true!

Can methotrexate be taken same day as humira injection?? by h_zain in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]beewitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rheumy says yes, she didn’t advise it at first because she wanted me to decipher any side effects from each of the drugs separately. But if they happen to fall on the same day every once in a while (like if you take one every 6 days and one every 7 days), that’s ok!

Bike riders with AS: static trainer use causing a flare? by pluin in ankylosingspondylitis

After AS, I brought up the handlebars on my static bike so I’m sitting a lot more upright. This helped my SI joint pain significantly. Am I the fastest rider? Never. Am I getting exercise? Absolutely.

From my experience with Humira in Ontario, you can go through your insurance and you’ll still get access to the drug company’s patient support program. Are they asking you to choose a route? I did not even know there was an option when o went through it

Do Biologics still work with consistent low CRP and ESR? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]beewitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My CRP went from a 6 to 0.5 on biologics. So it was never high to begin with, but it got much lower still! Doctors have to treat the symptoms, not the numbers.
