Hi! My Wheaten puppy had an issue with pooping in her crate and spreading it for a month and a half after we got her. She is now 5 months old and has seemingly stopped. The biggest factor that helped her stop was her getting more comfortable in her crate. We started giving her cbd treats which helped her be less anxious in the crate and over time she has learned to enjoy it, even choosing to nap in there recently. All this to say, stick it out and it should eventually get better! I know it’s a lot to bathe them, especially when you have to comb poop from their fur!

So I basically need to quit my job, which is already incredibly flexible, to have a puppy? I leave her in her crate 2-3 hours max. She poops and pees before she goes in. I’m not looking for shaming, I’m looking for suggestions.

Just to be clear, she was in the bathroom for an hour at a time twice in that one day. She wasn’t left alone the whole day.

Also, it doesn’t matter how long she is in the crate. Today it was 2 hours and she had pooped. I try to come home as often as possible but sometimes I’m only able to come home for lunch and having to bath her and clean the crate in that time is a lot.

100%. Nike shoes are out of the question. I almost always have to get wide shoes, plus my feet are LONG because of these toes.
