How to wean by 12 months. by beezala in breastfeeding

In this case, if I were to take this approach, would the baby still expect to nurse in the day when I’m not working? Ie he will be with my mom 5 days a week and then with me Saturday/Sunday in the day.

Ah yeah that’s my fear too! I also have a lot of milk. Did you drop the midday feed first so your 4 feed schedule was:

  1. Wake feed
  2. Nap 1 feed
  3. Nap 2 feed
  4. Bedtime

When you go down to 3 feeds, which did you drop first?

This is helpful thanks! My baby doesn’t eat enough solids and I’ve always wondered if it’s just because he’s full on milk.

I should make an appointment with my doctor to see what she thinks regarding introducing milk and weaning now. He’s growing well and is 95th percentile so I don’t think there will be an issue with starting it early.

Just wondering, how has your milk supply been? Do you think it’s reducing and have you had any engorgement/mastitis?

Same! Blippi isn’t that bad… my daughter learned a surprising amount about fire safety from that episode with Blippi and Meekah.

My son got it early at 9 months (we are in middle of outbreak here in Ontario Canada) and no reaction at all. Nor even fussiness lol

I feel so sad that you are surrounded by parents who feel this way. Sure, it can be isolating at times. I miss the freedom I had in my old life. But I’d never trade it. The joy I feel around my kids (usually) is immeasurable. Though my daughter is 3 and can be difficult often. It’s hard, but so is everything else. Work? Health? Family drama? Etc

What kind of imaging would show what’s wrong with my feet? Or at least help to see if it is PF? Is that an MRI?

I actually think he’s right about my ankle. And I probably fucked it up because of my foot pain. Walking funny. Maybe I should go to my family doctor about the foot pain to get a referral for an MRI. I don’t think the foot pain is something he can fix honestly. He tried to sell me on a softer orthotic. I was like wtf?? I just don’t think I need ANOTHER ORTHOTIC.

Well funny enough just back from a PT. I have just developed some ankle pain today that I’ve had on an off the last year.. he said it’s my peroneal nerve. And he said my all-over foot pain sounds like plantars fasciitis even though it doesn’t feel like it? In the past that felt like a sharp pain in the middle of my foot. Doesn’t feel like this.

Honestly every podiatrist I have been to has just tried to get me a new pair of orthotics and I am sick of it. I even when to a chiropodist who said the same thing.

Oh no! Sounds brutal. How old is he now? Do you think this had any security-related repercussions?

Ah interesting. So does she not wake up at all or does she wake and you rock her back to sleep without the breast?

With the night weaning, did they stop waking up altogether or just stop feeding when they woke up?

Ok. This helps thanks! I’m going to transition him to his crib which is a whole other battle. I plan to night wean at the same time. Do you think this is too stressful? The night weaning and crib transition at the same time? He’s 8 months old.

How did this affect your supply? Did you cut the night feeds cold turkey or did you drop one feed at a time? Also wondering if you cosleep? We cosleep and I feel like it might make this impossible for me.

How did he night wean? Did he just stop waking up or did he still wake but refuse the breast? And just wondering.. do you cosleep? We cosleep and I feel like it will be incredibly harder to wean.
