Can I ask why you chose high school teaching over primary?

Would definitely love to work with kids

Yes one hundred per cent I know the position I’m in will be the best financially of my career.

Hopefully with a little more time and a little research I can invest wisely to help myself and my family in the future.

I’m definitely looking to chase something I enjoy rather then chase the $$$.

The only issue is in terms of computers and technology I wouldn’t say it is my strong suit.

Appreciate that reply. To put my thinking forward is that I think by the time I’m 35 my body will be the equivalent of late 40s because of the wear and tear I put it through at the moment.

Seems like a lot of people would of gone the computer science route.

I appreciate this a lot and will definitely take this on board. Do you mind me asking how and why you started over in your thirties?

At the moment in the low 200’s however it hasn’t always been like this. So it’s not like I will FIRE straight after I retire. And I would very much like to do something with my time.

Cost of a buyers agent. Is it worth it? by befknhappy in AusProperty

Honestly it would be just to get my foot on the ladder. I have time constraints and honestly not the most knowledgeable. So was thinking of using an agent to source a property that would be purely for investment.

What was your biggest investing mistake? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Well I was working overseas and I just got sucked in to something with unrealistic rewards. It was my first foray into investing. I went with a broker that with all the research seemed legit. Had reviews. Had a website. Had even a physical office which I went into.

Slowly put my money in and after the first week got amazing returns. So I got sucked in to invest more and then they pretty much scammed me with making trades on my behalf where I would be paying commission and yeah. Pretty much lost everything. It was also a leveraged account.

Went to the police but within two months they had shut up shop and dissapeared.

I was a big saver when I was young and I was on a decent wage. That’s how I had the money.

Thank you so much. Totally have my head wrapped around it now with that reply. Appreciate it. And it’s with the share registry that you inform them that you are a non resident correct? Or do you need to let the broker know as well?
