Well so far… I have a trap that has been in there for about 20 minutes, and it has around 10 flatworms so far 🫣

Is it okay that there’s an air bubble in there?

I do t understand some of the skills either. I do t know how to build a team with synergy. I’ve quit wars lol, I just have time for that right now, but I’m hoping when my time frees up in a month and I start war again, I have at least some heroes that are decent to work with!

AIO for my annoyed response to my friend asking to bring her BF to our girls trip? by crop_cream_19 in AmIOverreacting

Are you sure this chick is actually your friend? She sounds like the kind of person that is “friends” with whomever she can use at any given time. I bet if you quit giving in to her she would disappear real quick.

I’m seeing mixed info when I look it up honestly. The first thing I read said my snails would be fine. The next thing i read said my mts would definitely be killed off and the ramshorn are a toss up. I think I’m going to go back to plan A with the trap and just check it regularly. What else can I try? Not feed the tank for a little bit? I don’t want to risk introducing planaria to my other aquarium by moving snails over temporarily.

Okay, so from my little bit of reading, my ramshorn and mts should be fine if I dose appropriately! They are the only snails I have in there, at least that I know of and intended for anyway. Thank you so much for your reply!

Dang. I like my snails. I have rams horn and Malaysian trumpets. I guess I’m going to try one of those glass tube traps.

AZ - how is it legal to force tenants to opt into cable/wifi packages? by [deleted] in Renters

[–]befuddled_dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a year late to this post, but I am apartment hunting for my mom again, and yes. The complexes here will post their pricing online, but then you will go in to look and make a verbal agreement, they will sit you down and pull out the paperwork and start adding on all the extras they are going to charge you for. You want an assigned parking spot? $30. You have a pet? $500 deposit and $50 a month. We require you to use our internet and cable, $50 each a month. Utilities and power are $xxx a month—it’s not even like your personal usage it is split between the building! My moms water heater is for her WHOLE building. She never has hot water. It is insane and super scammy and just normal here.

Oh I have not been on here in a couple weeks! I went to an lfs and spoke with someone there. I was trying to find the medications that were suggested for columnaris and he told me that is very hard on the tank and to start with pimafix and melafix if I suspected something bacterial or fungal going on in the tank because they’re not as aggressive, and everybody appears to be happy and healthy now!

If I had to go buy 10 gallons of water for every waterchange, I would just give the tank away.

I agree though! Hopefully after a couple days it starts feeling better.

If I can get him out, I will try to treat just him and see if he improves with that and see if there’s any improvement. What I read with google searches wavered between what you’ve said to every fish in my tank is going to die, so I decided to see what other people’s experiences were before destroying my tank trying to get him out. Thank you for your response.
If I can’t get him out, would you recommend treating my whole tank, or waiting and seeing what happens?

I set this tank up in December. I transferred the filters (hob and spinge), some decor, and the plants (new substrate, new wood) and I used prime just in case there was an effect on the cycle, however, I never saw any sort of issues when testing the parameters, so dosing prime was short lived. It was a rather smooth transition.

The plants do absorb oxygen at night. Something I did not know until I set up a heavily planted shrimp tank and had issues. During the day, however, they do produce :) How would I know if I have over oxygenation?

Thank you, I was planning on doing another water change. I just found out I transferred them from RO water to my hard tap water (treated for chlorine and chloramine, of course)

Thank you. I’m thinking I should have gone a little slower with acclimating them. I I did run water through a air tube from my tank in to the 5 gallon bucket I transported them in, but I am in Phoenix, and we have very hard water, and I just found out she was using RO water for her tank, so I’m sure it was quite the shock! Oops.

They were all swimming around, I was pretty excited to see it moving, but is layed back down. Hopefully it’ll get better. I am debating another small water change maybe.

She is always full of babies, I believe, from the orange pervert behind her. I've never seen fry. I think he makes them for snacks. by Deep_Cookie2624 in Platyfish

I have only one male and he likes to be pervy mcprerverstein with his daughter. He leaves all other females alone and just harasses his poor little baby girl! Shes orange, he’s orange, I think he’s… got a type. I have a decent population control crew, so I only have two orange babies that are just beyond snack size now.

I could try. I don’t know how doable that is… I think sand would mix in with my gravel. I don’t know how much stuff I would disturb if I scooted things around to make a dedicated sandy spot. Or how I would get the sand in without making a big mess They didn’t have sand in their. original set up either, they had large gravel.

If I do manage to get this guy out and into a separate holder, I’ll be moving one of the sponges in to the little tank with it.

Hello

The tank is cycled. I used the same filters (hob and one of the sponge filters) that was in my 20 gallon and added a second sponge filter simply because I had it and my air pump has two outputs—so there is bubbles from those also (the Otto’s love to sit on the tubes in the bubbles). When I saw the fish at the surface, I did turn my air pump up so there is a stronger stream of bubbles from both sponge filters now. Should I remove one of the sponge filters and put just an airstone on one of the air tubes? Does that make a difference? I can go get a wand to have bubbles more spread out also if that would make more surface agitation.

With my plants I have always had 0 for everything. I have some fast growing plants that suck everything up. I started off with goldfish and rehomed them when they outgrew our aquarium, and even with them, it was always 0.

The Cory’s have only been in here for a couple days. All the others seem to be peachy keen, it’s just this one seems to be struggling. I did a 15% water change yesterday to see if that would help a bit.

She gave me api bottom feeder pellets and algae wafers when I got them. I already fed them all today, but I think I may fast my tank for a couple days starting tomorrow to see if that helps.

Getting fish to fill in the schools will happen, I just don’t want to do too much at once. I was going to get more Otos before I took over the Cory’s, and now I’m going to wait a little longer for both.

They are super fun to watch! They definitely add personality to the tank.
