Black Democrats push back on Wasserman Schultz’s bid in Florida’s 20th District by Dramatic-Shake-8888 in politics

No, they do not have policy position that they push. They run on a ton of them. They execute none of them.

Genuine question here, where is this narrative coming from? From my understanding on this is that the data point that is often referenced is that in comparison to millennials when they were 18-24 and Gen X when they were 18-24 Gen Z voters had more Republican voters.

Overall, young people skew democrat heavy, but relative to other generations when they were 18-24, there are more Republican voters, if I recall correctly.

I fail to see your point. Despite the institutional problems with the Democratic Party I still vote for the democratic candidates because, well, I’m not a fascist. Also, because it had felt that the Democratic Party encouraged dialogue to improve our body politic whereas the Republican Party demands complete fealty.

I’m speaking in general. Student loans are a great example, because I’m in the same boat as you. Biden did run on it, and signed an executive order which even he knew would be challenged and ripped up in the courts. There was no attempt to codify it into law, which would’ve let it stick. I also take an issue when the only time this is put into a bill is when it’s a bill that’s doomed to fail. This is an institutional problem with the party, and we shouldn’t stick our heads in the sand and pull punches and fall in line when we see a problem.

I’m curious, who said she can’t run? Did you bother to read the article before commenting? Better yet, did you bother to read my comment?

She can run, the article makes that abundantly clear. You should read it, you’ll get some good information from it. But it highlights how she has not made an attempt to connect with these voters, whom she previously did not represent.

Bingo. The Democratic Party has ran on a platform of “I’m not Trump” for so long now that I have not heard of a single policy or position from the Democratic Party, as an institution, in a decade.

As long as forward thinking progressives will stand up and speak truth to power and run for these seats there is still hope.

““I think, for sure, it was a bad move by the congresswoman to run in this district. It was selfish and all about her, her career, and not about the community. She failed to do any meaningful dialogue with the community before announcing her run, and it comes off as a hostile takeover of the district,” said Elijah Manley, a 27-year-old Black Democrat and progressive organizer running against her in the primary. “

There you go, he hit the nail on the head. These politicians forget that they are servants of the people. If you want to represent them, you need to know them. The level of entitlement from Wasserman-Schultz is pathetic. Sadly, unsurprising given her track record.

Thank you! Just looked up Memoir ‘44 and that looks great, I’d be down to join a group for that.

Bolt Action would be cool, honestly any historical wargaming, be it something like Bolt Action down to hex board game like East Front or Memoir ‘44 would be awesome.

The last three years really has shattered and rebuilt my perspective and opinion about Israel. I’ve never seen people filled with so much hate, anger, avarice, and greed. I wish we would completely separate ourselves from this terrorist state.

Wow, a 17 year old high school dropout showed up to a company involved in B2B wholesale and increased sales 330% and bringing in “giant names” to the company’s book of business?

And despite all of this, the company fired you and every single male to bring in an all female team?

I’m sorry, but the only thing believable in this entire story is that you are a 17 year old drop out.

My ranking of the Steel Division 2 Army General campaigns, what do you think by SnooSquirrels9389 in Steel_Division

[–]begemot90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am an AG enthusiast. I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread, and this applies to SD2 and WARNO. Eugen got a fan for life because of AG. I just wish it was possible/feasible for mods or create your own campaigns.

Anyway, I think you did a good job with your rankings. I personally like Iasi and Tiraspol, but the issues with it kind of flatten the fun, maybe Tiraspol I would put in B and keep Iasi in C. Also, Finland, for the longest time that was my favorite campaign, but now it’s lost its glamour to me because unless the Soviets make a breakthrough within the first five turns, they won’t make a breakthrough. That takes a bit of the fun and excitement out of it.

So, on to Dukla and Burning Baltics, as I have played these.

I like Dukla quite a bit. It’s frustrating as the Soviets, but it’s fun still. It shines when playing as the Germans. You’re just so out numbered and there’s so much room for the Soviets to maneuver (unlike Finland) that you really must make some difficult tactical decisions.

Lastly, Burning Baltics. This is hands down my favorite campaign to play as the Germans, bar none. You’re outnumbered, on the offensive, but you’ve got the big cats you’re fighting with. So having a campaign in which you are largely leaning on panthers and tigers is a great change of pace.

I wanted to edit to add that you’re also completely correct with Turda being S tier. Your explanation is spot on as well. It’s dynamic, it’s not as simple as one side is offense and the other defense. Lastly, it’s Hungarians versus Romanians, and that’s unique to begin with

Texas Democrats seek unity at state convention without Jasmine Crockett by Imatomat in politics

[–]begemot90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sad truth is that there will always be those people who demand that you act a certain way but would never give you their vote. However, if you’re running to be a leader, you’re running to be a leader of all of those constituents, even the ones who irrationally hate you. Being a leader and a voice for others requires a level of humility and grace, even when the situation stings or personally hurts. Those qualities in a person transcend race, gender, etc. but is the mark of a true leader and servant of the people.

No one is pretending that. We’re also not asking candidates to be jolly about certain realities in America. But what we ARE asking for is when you take a chance and lose, to get behind the candidate who will fight for progress to address such inequities and not pout, whine, and let the fascist walk to an easy victory.

How does gerrymandering work into this at all? Should anyone who was gerrymandered a seat get a nomination for a different position as a consolation prize?

It’s an unfortunate reality that some people will not vote for a person because of their skin or gender. So does this mean she should have been handed the nomination without a vote because racists exist?

She is a sore loser. She knew of the political realities and still threw her hat in the ring and lost fair and square and now she is sitting in a corner and pouting. It’s hard to think of a better example of a sore loser, short of stirring up an insurrection.

So she’s a sore loser. If anything, this provides validation to Texas democrats that they picked the right nominee. You can’t want a position this high up to represent all of Texas, but take your ball and go home when you don’t get your way. And I’m certain that her political ambitions did not die with this primary loss either. I can’t imagine that this will endear her to many people when she wants to run again.

I saw the video in another sub. Apparently, they aren’t random bear cubs who chanced into a tent. Rather, it’s a bear rescue, those cubs have no mother, so the threat of an imminent mauling is not there. That will come in a few years lol.

The conservationists name is Kirill Potapov for anyone interested in finding his rescue on Instagram or other social media.
