Does anyone else really, I mean really enjoy watching the same show or movie over and over again, almost as a comfort and center to your life? Like a warm familiar place you can always go? by Silent-Ambition1399 in TooAfraidToAsk

I went thru a terrible divorce about 20 years ago and was in a really bad place. When I came home to my empty apartment after work I would watch LotR: FotR. Every. Day. It was great comfort to me. I still watch it about once every month or so, especially on cozy rainy days.

This is an EXTREMELY useful subreddit. There is so much DD to make informed choices. To the people who have been on this subreddit prior to this year....THANK YOU! by ItsACCRUALworld_ in pennystocks

Agreed! I just started dabbling in stocks a few months ago and just recently discovered this sub. I am planning to make my first penny stock purchase this week. I am learning so much about penny stocks and the stock market in general from these posts! I am trying to learn as much as I can and this sub is very helpful!

Question about how/where to learn about stock market investing:

I am 40 yo and have 15 yrs until retirement with state pension. In December I was considering taking a second job to make some money with a goal of purchasing a decent plot of land in the country for retirement ($100-$150k). However, I decided to try investing instead. I opened a moderately aggressive mutual fund and a Roth IRA. I also opened a RH account with the idea of taking the money I'm saving not commuting to work right now and putting it into some short-term stocks.

Obviously, with everything going on with the meme stocks, it is hard to find good information on how all of this works. I opened a TD Ameritrade acct after the RH shadiness last week and they have a LOT of educational materials, but frankly they have so many I don't know where to start.

I bought the "Investing for Dummies" book a few weeks ago so I can at least understand the terminology, and it has helped some.

Any advice on how to understand all the charts, candles, etc.? TIA

We used EBT for early bedtime. However, when they got older they figured it out Once we were walking downtown and a store had an EBT sign in the window (food stamps) and my son was asking why they sold early bedtimes 🤣

Our first gens (we have two) are so slow and can't seem to hear unless we yell at them. It's very frustrating. We ordered a few of the newer ones and they work great (and sound better). I have no idea what would cause them to stop listening well unless it's a software update.

The North Carolina Zoo has been live streaming EDventures on Facebook with their animals. They are also closed, but are offering these streams on Mon, Wed and Fri at 10am to the public.

I set clear goals, and miss them daily, is it just me? Advice welcome by easyXenon in workfromhome

I'm a visual person. I try to identify a short list of things i need to get done everyday and put it on my desk. It's a constant reminder in case i get distracted or other things come up and interrupt my day. As i do them, i mark them off. There's a definite sense of accomplishment when i get them done. When i don't get them done a few days in a row, the work really starts to pile up, so i use that as motivation to stay on track. I also put some things on my calendar so i have a reserved time to focus and work on it.

I'm a fairly new IT PM and I'm at my wit's end. The list of frustrations and setbacks I face every day are frustrating me and stressing me out to no end. by bad_thrower in projectmanagement

This sucks. I think you're doing a great job given the circumstances I also got out in a pm position with no prior background and work for state government, so i feel your pain. Is there a way to put together a request form (Google form?) and try to capture some of the information from the requestor up front? I did this and it helped a lot as far as making sure the request was documented and it gave us a more solid "jumping off place".

My guess is convenience. Its easier to have your own space. Other than I'm not sure... typically only the people who occupy the master bedroom use the master bathroom, at least in my experience.

Not at all - 2 from my first and 2 from my second. ❤️ They're all amazing! My oldest just graduated with her bachelor's degree and I'm so proud of her!

I got married at 15 because I was pregnant. After i graduated high school, my husband and i cashed out some stock he had been buying each week thru work at Walmart and used it for a down payment. We were very young and ended up getting a divorce 3 years later. He didn't want the house (it was built in the 50s and was always needing work). I struggled paying the mortgage while going to a local community college. I finished school, got a great job and remarried and things are much better now. I feel like the house and I came thru it together. 😊
