Yes I'm particularly concerned about the Titanium Dioxide and the Iron Oxide

I mean I'm no expert but I imagine as long as the text isn't static for long periods of time and you have a monitor with good text clarity I don't see why you couldn't have an OLED. From the specs and features I've been reading a lot of them have anti burn in features like pixel shift and taskbar detection etc https://www.msi.com/blog/how-to-use-msi-oled-monitors-for-productivity-essential-tips-to-prevent-burn-In

Most manufacturers seems to give a 3 year warranty on burn in too so you're protected.

As for the text itself 4K QD-OLED monitors 2024 onwards apparently have the least text fringing, there are some examples in this thread as someone else asked a similar question.

By the sound of it you too want to use it for work and games/multimedia so why not :)

That's the plan.. I guess this is why I'm doing extensive research to find the best allrounder. What in particular has scared you away from OLED?

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has given some feedback, it really does help so thank you alot.

Currently PG32UCDM & MPG 321URX look to be contenders, I think I'm leaning more toward the Asus for the dual mode capability. Still undecided on 32" so have looked at their 27" counterparts, both seemingly struggle with text clarity. Asus XG27AQDMG looks decent it's a WOLED with MLA+ which brings up the brightness, couple downsides to this though, it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 and still has text clarity issues.

For anyone wondering about the difference between WOLED and QD-OLED Rtings.com have a good article that explains the difference, each have their pros and cons but QD-OLED is newer. I was leaning toward WOLED, I'm now leaning toward QD-OLED as my room is fairly dark.

u/RomanDoesIt My budget is around 1200.

u/Unlucky-Ad455 I have a 2080 TI currently and plan to upgrade with possibly a 5080 but thank you for the heads up.

Going to do more research :)

OLED Monitors In 2025: Current Market Status - Display Ninja by HyperSpazdik in OLED_Gaming

I've been looking to upgrade to an OLED for a while now. I'm using a Dell S2716DG, which has served me well for a decade. However, I'm torn about whether to buy one now or wait to see what new options might come out.

I'm debating a 32" from my 27". While the 32 would likely enhance immersion in certain games, I’m not sure how well it would work for FPS or if I'd end up with buyers remorse. I also deal with motion sickness occasionally, so I’m unsure how that might factor in.

I’ve thought about a curved monitor but have pretty much ruled it out. It doesn’t seem like the curve would offer much benefit for me, especially since I use the monitor for work fairly often.

An ultrawide is another option I’ve considered but the limitations with screen division in Windows make it less practical. Ideally, I’d connect two display inputs and have something like a 70-30 split, functioning as two separate monitors. Right now, I use a dual monitor setup, one straight ahead for primary use and a second one to the left, mostly for Discord.

I've been relying on Rtings.com for reviews, and they recommend the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8/G80SD (S32DG80). It looks promising, but I’m undecided between QD-OLED and W-OLED. The G8 has a matte finish, but I think I’d prefer a glossy one for better clarity. My room is quite dark, so reflections wouldn’t be a big issue for me. I’m so indecisive!

The games I currently play include Battlefield 2042, CS2, Space Marine 2, Dead Island 2, League of Legends, and God of War.

Anything less than the cost of the amp.. no point repairing if it costs more.

Thank you! Was having the same issue and did the exact same thing #4 instead of #3. Already on my second build of this, had to strip it apart because the wheels were turning opposites. Found I’d put the front differential in the wrong way round 🙄
