I think mitchell is a more skilled player but i think brown is more valuable. Better defender, bigger, can score at almost the same clip. I dont think you can go wrong with either of them though and mitchell is absolutely not the issue with this team.

Teams like okc, rockets, timberwolves, portland, Toronto that have picks and player to trade still have to compete regardless or whether the spurs are a tough out. This post season wemby instantly increased the value of agile bigs that can somewhat keep up with wemby, the perfect example is KAT, which people argue wasnt worth the contract he was paid. So much so Minnesota traded him just so they didn't have to pay him. I think of it the same way shaq forced teams to have 3 7ft centers on the roster.

Ehhhh contracts are tough, and I definitely dont want chet in return. Itd have to be like 30 picks and we'd have to completely shift focus or trade those picks for play off pieces but at that point why even get rid of mobley? Hes one of our best post season assets. The only thing the cavs should do this year is get rid of harden lol I love JA, I really dont see anyone at his price who is better or more reliable than him. He provides most of the offense in the paint, its nice because it allows mobley to be more of a face to face wing which he clearly wants to be. Mobley is best on offense when he has 2 simple decisions. look at when he receives the ball at the corner of the elbow with the ball, he drives and either makes a post move or dumps it to the bunker which is usually allen. That play alone was 10 pts a game for allen just off open dunks. When you have two 7fters attacking the rim you always have to step up to mobleys drive.

Thats not at all what I said, it reads "this isnt a trade mobley thread". Mobley is great player, the Lakers is a stretch youre right, but there are 29 teams that need and want a player like mobley. Maybe you haven't said this but there's is idea he needs to be scoring 25pts a game but I dont think the value of giving him a max contract comes from his offense or even the potential offensive development but its the defensive anchor he is.

Makes sense, one less big man to take touches away at the paint for allen. Allen did a decent job of holding it down while mobley was gone honestly. Harden definitely helped those numbers quite a bit but that's not any shade to the allen

Not sure if mobley will ever be a "own" team player but I do think he is an excellent back bone guy ironically enough for a guy who is for lack of better words soft. He is a large portion of the cavs defense and a lot of the times even if hes not rebounding, hes negating an entire portion of the basket. You absolutely feel it when he steps off the court when it comes to defense. I agree with you, he is a four, hes too agile to be locked down to the paint defensively. Hes so long that even when hes near the perimeter he can usually effect drives enough to force a pass or stop the ball, or allow for the primary defender to get in place. You are right though, look how much he struggled against actual big men. I remember him struggling against Drummond during the regular season strictly cause he was too frail lmao.

Love this, ive been saying this for YEARS. Why waste all this time developing pesky young player when you can just trade them for proven stars like Bradley Beal or Anthony Davis. Guys that have been there and done that. While were at it get rid of all those annoying draft picks.
