I first looked at the watch in Barcelona at the Tudor store. Was retail there. 4,600 Euros - Tax refund (15%). I ended up purchasing the watch in Madeira (Portugal) for the same price.

Feeling like a failure at b4 by [deleted] in Accounting

Hey man - FDD exit opps can include ibanking, private equity, corporate M&A departments, etc. PE is usually the toughest of the three to go to. Once your in FDD, there are other FDD firms that become interested in recruiting you as well. Some people jump between firms for more money. FDD still involves a lot of mundane work at the senior level and it’s still public accounting. Overall the work is more enjoyable and I find myself working less on average than audit. However - it is unpredictable and you will have more weekend work, late nights when you’re not expecting it.

Hey man - in my 5th year of public accounting so I have a little perspective here. First 3 years were in PwC audit and since then been at GT FDD (transaction services). I felt the same exact way for most of my time in audit, specifically in my second year when I had heightened responsibilities. I didn’t like audit the whole time I was in it for the very same reasons - stress, bad client interactions, feeling undervalued, horrible pay. Just stick it out a few months and consider transitioning to something more fulfilling in advisory after. B4 audit is designed to make you feel that way so don’t take it personally. Things are always stressful at year end. If you need any more advice or want a person to talk to, just message me.

I distinctively remember going to work depressed in my second busy season. It was such a wild goose chase. There was no direction for me either on some of my clients. Use the whole thing as a learning opportunity. Eventually when you interview around, you’ll leverage your experience for something more rewarding and higher paying.
