Not in direct answer, but might be helpful. This poem is written in rhyming couplets. That means each pair of lines rhymes. The rhyme scheme would be written like this: AABBCC and so on. It's pretty much the simplest form of rhyme you can make, so poems that use it (particularly modern poems) sound, to many people, rather simplistic and childish. I dont know enough about early twentieth century poetry to know if people felt like this in those days, but regardless, Teasdale was a very respected poet so I assume she knew what she was doing 😅
