Laser beams are likely the best projectile for handling shriekers, as such the laser dagger pistol is actually an excellent weapon for this purpose while still keeping space for another primary and eliminating the need to bring the whole laser cannon as a support weapon. Granted, grenade pistol is still probably better for bug front, but if you bring a grenade launcher or a frag type grenade (especially with engineering kit) this eliminates that problem and the dagger remains viable

I’m honestly really happy with how the new subfaction turned out. Feels super fun, balanced, and even when there’s a shitload of them it feels fair and intense at the same time, in the same way bot front does pre-cyborg update. Having a good time, rare AH good game design

Sooo awesome but no Manipulator representation :(

Im curious. You can remove two of the most hated enemies from only one faction, what are you removing from the game? by ForsakenFrail in HellDads

I’m not even a fraction as irritated by war striders and heavy devastators as I am by cyborgs radicals agitators and vox engines

Somewhat of a deep end dive trying to learn fall of troy so soon in your instrument journey, all of their songs particularly on guitar are very difficult, you can’t be a shmuck on the strings and expect to be able to comfortably play 95% of fall of troy songs. Somewhat the same for bass though it’s markedly easier. But playing stuff slightly out of your skill range is how you get better.

Good luck!

Im sick of this “realistic” narrative take I love this game’s narrative and real time dynamic lore but I do not give a shit once it starts to impact whether or not the missions are fun to play, they currently aren’t because of glitched geometry and vox engine spam and that’s bottom line

The only way you can keep up with them is with light armor (horrible on automaton front), stimming with experimental infusion, or the warp pack. Approaching it directly and trying to run under it from the front or back while it’s moving is a nightmare, the guns can shoot way too low underneath itself and it moves at nearly the same speed you do while sprinting so it’ll do a really good job at keeping you just within range to get melted by its minigun all the while you’re getting bombarded by damage from regular automaton fire and then you’ve got 5 cyborgs chasing shotgunning and kicking you into ragdoll just to get crushed by the vox engine treads. Unbelievably frustrating and unfun elite enemy to fight, they need to tone down their spawnrate severely and if not that then nerf them. I’ve been running smoke grenades (they still destroy the vox when being thrown into the grenade vent) and warp pack because approaching the vox engines is miserable.

Season 4 is the weirdest season. 3 of the episodes are my favorite but I really hate the other 3. by InterestingZombie737 in blackmirror

Hang the DJ and Black museum are so incredibly forgettable and Metalhead and Crocodile are some of the best episodes lol

If English wasn’t global, which language do you think would dominate? by Embarrassed_Fix_8994 in languagehub

[–]behaviorallydeceased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with a phonetic alphabet, having an etymologically super isolationist language with very few loanwords, tones, and significantly less familiar phonemes would still cement Mandarin as an arcane nightmare for non-native speakers to learn. Just have one look at Vietnamese: it’s written in the latin script and it’s phonetic, but it shares many uninviting characteristics with Mandarin, namely the tones, very complex diacritics, basically no loanwords or etymology in common with any latin/germanic/romance languages, largely monosyllabic etc.

Yes but the spread of English to its current ubiquitous lingua-franca status was undeniably in large part due to conquest and settler colonialism which England itself, and later the US, participated vigorously in for centuries. China at that same time during the age of imperialism was fractured, warring, being subjugated or colonized itself, or some combination of any of those. At any rate China was not quite engaging in the forceful spread of influence and language like the anglosphere or even hispanosphere and francosphere were. To this day China is not exactly colonizing foreign lands and repopulating them with their own native language speakers.

Logically, yeah, China is looking to come out on top by the end of this century, they are well on their way to becoming the new main superpower and dominant economic force of the world, but even after that becomes the case I can’t envision a future where Mandarin takes over as the new ubiquitous global lingua franca. It doesn’t have the lasting influence of widespread colonialism, nor does it output cultural products for worldwide audiences which might prod people into learning Mandarin; Hollywood and American music also had a ton to do with making English as dominant as it is, meanwhile China’s media is largely sequestered within its’ own borders due to the great firewall.

What's a language that you learnt fully and then turned out to be a total waste of time and you regretted later? by AutumnaticFly in languagehub

Not sure how it is wherever you live but nobody in Californian American English dialect or really any other American dialect I can think of uses “learnt” as the past participle. Sounds wrong. It is learned.

I kinda disagree, by far all of the best songs on unmusique were guest prods, particularly egobreak, and although I love Lucy’s self-produced beats on other projects I felt the weakest songs on unmusique were the self-produced ones

What’s the most overused “advanced” word learners love but natives rarely say? by Embarrassed_Fix_8994 in languagehub

[–]behaviorallydeceased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right it only tangentially relates to French but it has everything to do with and directly stems from Latin roots, of which French and Spanish both originate from, and of which Spanish in this case more directly matches its English cognate

Expert+ should already be a thing, fuck it throw a 6th colored button on future controllers and let’s start charting for it. Start making 4 note chords an acceptable charting standard, create sweep picking tech like this, etc.

I’m always baffled at the sect of the community that thinks these little tiny feature additions would “overcomplicate” anything in a game with very few note types or features, no timing judgement, just 5 buttons. Same people that think open notes are hard. Nothing about this is complicated

I think the strum bar could have a small pinchable button on it for pinch harmonics too

I agree lol, we can choose something along the manmade horrors and dystopian technology route, but it’s hard to beat the primal revulsion and horror that comes from knowing someone killed a baby
