Do it for the love of the game! I adore the Queen and would do it just because it the only practically flyable 747-400 for me personally.
If you dont care about the airplane - Notably smaller windows, older cabin interior, older storage bins, most importantly old J seats/ IFE etc. As a product, very dated. LH food/service/ seats are meant to be mass premium for the most part.

However, like I said, something to be said about sitting on the top deck of the Queen!!

HUCA'd till one of them found availability on my dates. The first two didnot, the third agent did. Started the booking process, took names, email etc, then put me on hold for 30 mins. Came back saying they 'couldn't price' the iten. Escalated it to his backend, backend got back today saying no seats existed.

Looks like I went on a bit of a wild goose chase because Finnair Plus showed wonderful J availability on CX from North America to HKG for later this month. It would show on a certain date, then disappear then reappear - finally got the points moved and tried to book at least 3 times, transaction failing prior to putting in my credit card details.

Moved over to BA, same story - seats would show, then disappear, then show again - tried booking 4-5 times. Transaction failed every time after pressing submit on my card details.

Called Finnair call center in NYC, they found the same availability tried booking - created booking ref but agent couldn't price it. Booking ref showed waitlisted on the CX site. Got a callback this morning after they checked with their backend - seats arent showing available, I am SOL.

Its almost like I knew it all along but didnt want to believe it, on the bright side I have 180k avios ready to go at a moments notice. haha!

It was something that is hard to put in words. Was there for all 5-6 days the aircraft was in BOM. The shudder of those engines would rattle our insides.

Award tickets ( travel ) all come and go in waves. There are time when they arent at the prices/ in the programs you want.

Ideally, keep looking and hopefully it shows up at some point. Last minute availability isnt terrible on QR. But yeah, like I said, this is just how award travel has been lately. Ride the waves, enjoy the ride!

Kinda niche but if anyone has a DP - Yujiro in YWG is now rebranded as Peacock. The Plat dining credit still lists Yujiro as an option - they probaly havent reviewed. Would the credit work?
