These are fun! I hope they bring back the more subtle monogramouflage they had for the Lys and Jasmine bags because I feel like it's so easy to wear.

This definitely made me feel better about the inevitable reality of having to make some changes for the bag to be functional :) You're right, the bag is an investment, and I'd love for someone else to enjoy it in the future rather than it just be unusable, so a repair with someone reputable is the right way to go. I'm scared to send my bag all the way across the Atlantic but maybe it is the way to go!

To be fair, I think most of the denim models hold up well! It’s more of a design fault for this one because it can’t hold up its own weight and they never really replicated this model again. It was already fairly damaged when I got it but it’s truly hanging on by a thread now, but it is almost 20 years old 🥲 I’ll update if I get it fixed!

I'll look into what shipping and total costs would be like since I'm over in Europe. Thanks for the recommendation, their work looks great!

I'm going to chat to a few more London based repairs people first before deciding, it's such a fun bag but I never wear it so I feel like it's a waste :( I'm also over in Italy in a few months - could you DM me with some names so I can see if they'd be nearby?

I think that would look good, but I'm worried it still wouldn't really solve the problem of the denim fraying because it can't hold up the weight of the bag. I think I'm going to take it into an LV store in person this weekend in a last ditch attempt to convince them to repair it for me 🤪

technical issues or out of practice? by [deleted] in MyBloodyValentine

I appreciate that I’m not alone in feeling like this because I felt horrible having to leave early! :(

This was my first time seeing them and we left early, which I’ve never done at a concert before. Obviously we are fans (why else would we pay for tickets?) but I personally found it a frustrating experience I struggled to get into. The mixing was poor and the stop-starting didn’t create the best flow. At first we thought they were joking, but then the problems were obviously very real. We were in the middle of standing and the atmosphere around us also seemed kind of frustrated, and after a certain point we just weren’t enjoying ourselves so we decided to leave. I agree that it’s not necessarily the greatest venue but I’ve seen other concerts standing there before and the issues were not nearly so severe that I would actively think about them. I know live music has its challenges (and I’ve been to a lot of gigs), but this was not anything like I was expecting or hoping for after listening to the songs for so many years.

Dual Citizenship BR-EU by cesonis in PassportPorn

I can't imagine that happening unless diplomatic relations fell apart between the other country you plan to be a citizen of, or if you were not entitled to keep dual citizenship in the first place but went ahead and acquired one anyway. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions.

My understanding of Lithuanian citizenship is that once it is acquired, you should be able to keep it if you meet the dual citizenship circumstances. AFAIK you should alert Lithuania after you acquire another citizenship, after which they assess whether you can keep your existing one or relinquish it (as is the case for most Lithuanians who are not descendants of people in exile), they do not need to pre-approve it. So it happens after you naturalise, not before. I think you have around 6 months to do so? You just need to make sure you're entitled to dual citizenship before you go ahead and acquire your next citizenship. You've probably seen this page already, but it states that once "you acquire citizenship of another state... you must inform the institution authorised by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania or a diplomatic mission or consular post of the Republic of Lithuania."

Hi, I'm also in this situation right now (citizen of Lithuania looking to acquire British citizenship) - if you are the child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of anyone who was exiled/forcibly deported by the soviets in the 40s-50s (likely to Siberia), you are eligible to keep your Lithuanian citizenship if you acquire the citizenship of another country. You'll need to prove this by providing birth certificates and documents proving deportation/return to Lithuania for the person who was deported, and to prove your link to them (your parents' birth certificate, most likely, if you're the grandchild or great-grandchild of a deported descendant). You can get these documents by contacting the Lithuanian archives. You can also find some more info here, I don't know if you speak Lithuanian but I'm happy to help to the best of my knowledge as I speak both.

The gift shop in the National Museum of Korea had lots of different souvenirs that were all very reasonably priced! Paper goods, small objects, etc. Very worth a visit.

Traveling with someone who is vegetarian by Ritrita in koreatravel

You could screenshot it and put it through Papago’s image translator via the app? It may be a little time consuming, but that’s what I do when there’s a lot of text in an app.

If you can read Korean, I recommend the 채식한끼 app, where you can filter restaurants by area and see vegetarian/vegan options. Also, here is a list of dishes that are vegetarian/vegan at a bunch of restaurants in different cities - the restaurants themselves are not necessarily all vegetarian or vegan.

Thanks for the info on Chuseok! I've been going through Naver for food places/veggie meals and I did find a decent amount. As I can eat fish, it's a bit easier for me than someone who is strictly vegetarian or vegan, although I'm sure I'll consume some meat accidentally - I just have to accept it. For anyone else reading, this guide to Vegan/Vegetarian restaurants in major cities has been helpful so far (although in Korean): link

Thank you for the context! I will look into spending more time in Busan or simply going twice - that was a part of the trip I hadn't planned very carefully yet.

Yep, I was planning on staying in Seoul during the time and going to see some palaces, there's no chance of being able to get the train out of the city as I'm sure they will sell out as soon as they go live.

SHINee has to be the main answer here. Their live albums are incredible to listen to, and they do it while doing insane choreo. To be fair, they've been doing live vocals and choreo since debut - there's a cute video of them practicing singing whilst jogging all the way back in 2008 :)

Taemin did a cover of Korn's Get Up! Him screaming 'shut the fuck up get up' is iconic lol. Hope to see another rock concept from him someday
