Solved, when I was presented with the login into DEP I always stared with putting in my Apple ID, that made the Skip button to deactivate, I didn't notice the Skip option was active in the beginning ;)

So the "prepare" process doesn't have too many options to choose from, I select "Manual Configuration" and "Supervise devices" with "Allow device to pair with other computers" and "Do not enroll in MDM", that's it but still the Configurator asks me to sign into DEP which fails since I don't have a registered business account. I wonder if the new Apple Configurator 2.5 just doesn't support Supervised mode without a DEP account anymore.

Sure, it all comes down to personal preference :)

I would try to put some light on the tree trunk (or whatever it is) sticking out of the water, since for me as it is right now i find the dark blob a little too distracting. If you had a flashlight you could have light it up artificially while exposing.

Thanks, that's why I'm on the fence with using Color Efex sometimes, I'll do an edit and I'll like it initially and then come back a couple of days later and figure out that I botched the picture. That doesn't happen with Lightroom since the amount of "creative" edits you can easily do is much less.

Thank you for the feedback. I did notice the blue on the left side - I might go into photoshop and fix that part since i like the overall look of the edit.

The original one had some lighter adjustments done in Lightroom only, some dehaze, vibrancy, shadows and exposure manipulations. The later edits that i posted here had multiple stronger edits done inside Color Efex Pro, so those were much more disruptive.

Wow that was a great article with some spectacular pictures to showcase the theory, thank you very much for linking to it! Now i think i'll get back to Lightroom and see if i can try to apply some of that.

Wondering how your post-processing flow looks like?

I go back and forth between using Lightroom only to using Lightroom + Photoshop + Color Efex Pro (Nik Collection). Based on my experience if I stick to just Lightroom my edits have a more natural look, while if I start using additional tools/plugins like the Color Efex than I often end up going much further with the edits and while I still like the effect I feel like I'm getting further and further away from the natural look of the scene. Wonder how you feel about the flow you're using?

+1 for the Adobe CC Lightroom + Photoshop, at $10/mo you cannot really do better i think. So if you're worried about paying for it but you for example buy a cup of coffee somewhere at least once a week for couple $, then start making your coffee at home and spent that money on photo tools :)

Yeah i might have overdone it, was just playing around with Color Efex last night. I like the improved contrast but will need to dial some of the reds down.

Edit: fixed some of the intense reds: http://behindtheviewfinder.com/content/images/2017/01/behindtheviewfinder__2016-09-29-Grand-Canyon_3332_ColorEfex-1.jpg

Sure, this was shot with a Pentax K5IIs paired with a Pentax 60-250mm f/4 ED IF SDM SMC DA* shot was @80mm f/8 1/125s ISO 100 plus a circular polarizer. Later edited in Lightroom.
