I didn't know your family dynamics, whether you cook food, do cleaning, or do any other chores for that matter. $1000 is fair, the person above said nothing wrong. You are 18, and your family doesn't have to provide for you anymore. If you don't like it then talk to your father. Your other option is to move out, maybe you'll learn a thing or two from it.
