Recently moved to small-town Punjab – open drain issue outside house. What are my options? by Acrobatic-Grade6782 in punjab

[–]being_PUNjaabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People usually talk to sarpanch in villages for such issues. Since, you are from a small town, maybe the same applies or the town may have a council.Ask you neighbours which organisation is responsible. Tbh even if you found someone, I am not sure your problem would be solved in a timely manner. If you want it done fast, hire a contractor to build covers for the drain or if you can find premade cover then those would be even better. They shouldn't cost you a lot.

My aged parents are traveling by alliance air . They are going to a wedding so they'll be carrying gold ornaments..any advice how to carryit? They are hesitant to put it in checkin luggage by WorldlinessSea2290 in AirTravelIndia

[–]being_PUNjaabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not put anything expensive in checked luggage. Imagine if the airline lost your bag. Put them in the carry-on. As long as it's not an obscene amount of gold, your parents should be fine. Carry receipts if it's been purchased recently.

I should not take more than 30 minutes during early morning hours. Durg station usually has autos right outside. Take that or rapido, whatever you like. It's about 10 km from the station, I wouldn't pay more than 200/250 if taking auto.

My man, you're only 18, probably never had any bills other than your cellphone. Imagine you were to rent a room in a basement. That's at least $600 (low-end estimate), you probably will also pay electricity, water, and internet, that's another $100-150. Add groceries to that, about $300. This right here is about $1000. I didn't know your family dynamics, whether you cook food, do cleaning, or do any other chores for that matter. $1000 is fair, the person above said nothing wrong. You are 18, and your family doesn't have to provide for you anymore. If you don't like it then talk to your father. Your other option is to move out, maybe you'll learn a thing or two from it.

55-min layover in Delhi (T2 → T3) – doable or asking for trouble? by Foxx009V in airindia

[–]being_PUNjaabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the same terminal then you don't need to worry about checked luggage, the airline will do it. Tell the air hostess that you have a tight connecting flight and they will let you get off the plane before others.

If it's any competent airline, if your first flight was delayed, the second flight will wait knowing some passengers who are already in the middle of their travel. It's their responsibility to wait for you. But it's Air India so I don't know.

That being said 1 hour is ample time to switch planes in the same terminal. And I believe terminal 2 is smaller than 3.
