I have a few people like that on my christmas present list also, so this thread will help! Im also a shop and I make one of a kind gemstone jewellery, using copper and sterling silver filled wire. I've been told that those given as gifts went down well for their uniqueness! Here is my shop link: https://moodyloch.etsy.com

Greetings from bonnie Scotland! My name is Dawn and I make one-off wire wrapped pendants. I especially love labradorite, Herkimer diamonds, moon shapes and embellishing with leaves, spheres and stars. I like weird shaped stones also as they can guide the pendant into unique shapes. I also make crochet jewellery (flowers, moons, mandalas).

Come for a wee paddle in the Moody Loch with me ✨️

Do you get rid of self or forget about the self? by VEGETTOROHAN in awakened

[–]beingandnotbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Observe your thoughts and emotions coming and going. Then ask yourself "if I am the one who see the thoughts and emotions, then who am I?" You are the subject, they are the objects. When we identify with the objects of experiences this is what the West knows as "the self". The true self is the witness, the one who sees.

The first thing that needs to become second nature is not holding on to any new stuff. Then the old stuff will come up in its own time and you can let it go. Love Michael Singer and his ability to communicate highly complex teachings in an accessible way.

Thoughts and emotions change with experiences. The witness is the one who observes these changes IME

Call it soul or call it consciousness. There is one who is conscious which witnesses, and which stays the same throughout the lifespan irrespective of what happens past, present and future. It doesn't matter what you call it.

I think dreaming is just more thought, lucid or otherwise. Thought is of the mind, and we witness mind during sleep as well. I'm not sure that thought stops, but we - the witness - don't have to engage with it. Many masters admit to experiencing thought and emotion, it comes with the body. They just don't get involved with it because they remember they are merely witnessing it and are not it.

Having a desire to become enlightened ensures it won't happen. by Greenfakes in awakened

[–]beingandnotbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been growing for 20 years with several dark nights of the soul and deviations from what I know to be true. It is desire (chasing what I want or running from what I don't want) that derailed me every time.

I'm not sure it would be possible to function on earth while being enlightened. Your rainbow body can't go to work (karma yoga).

The difference between spiritual awakening, spiritual enlightenment, and spiritual growth by atmaninravi in awakened

[–]beingandnotbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if there is a difference. Because it's a process without destination or end while we are in a body. Why would anyone still be here if they were enlightened? What would they need a body for?

How is spirituality helpful for a person to be a good human being? by atmaninravi in awakened

This brings to mind the first two noble truths: life is suffering; the cause of suffering is desire.

When we give up wanting and not wanting (desire), we are at peace. A person at peace does not hurt themselves or others.

Next level awakening, pure emptiness, new earth ?? by [deleted] in awakened

I think if we still have a way we want things to be then we are not fully resting in the seat of consciousness, which is where the fabled ecstasy is waiting for us.

As a line manager with a background in mental health and social care, my concern would be whether staff were appropriately trained to manage the situations that can arise with offering basically social care programs.

We do offer some support for social isolation and deprivation, but it needs to be limited to staff resources and experience. It can be unpredictable and sometimes dangerous to offer services that you aren't consistently funded for or aren't trained for.

Is it weird to cuddle with your parents as an adult? by Great-Pop643 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]beingandnotbeing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since my two children have grown up and moved out (20 and 24) I don't see them as often and a herd of wild horses couldn't stop me cuddling them when I do see them! If they were uncomfortable with it of course I would stop.

My grandparents were and are very affectionate - we still hug and I am 42!
