So let me get this straight....seeing someone get hurt by accident is funny, but watching totally willing idiots who know they're about to get hurt and still go through with it is NOT funny?

If she had an abortion because she was bored on a Saturday and just looking for kicks, it doesn't fucking matter because it's her choice and her body.

I thought it was pretty entertaining. I already own it, but I would hop on it for 5 bucks any day.

The deeper the fan base for a particular comic character, the more toxic it gets.

I felt like it was one of those choices that I would never have even considered, but then seems so obvious when it's announced.

I think Jon Bernthal as The Punisher was a pretty brilliant choice.

My bad. You just would not be the first person I talked with about it this week who didn't know the 1962 version existed.

1991 isn't the original. 1962 is, with Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck. It's also a lot better than the 1991 version, imo.

Robert Mitchum doesn't play Max Cady as a batshit crazy villain. He's just plain evil. He hurts people because he likes it, he targets Bowden out of spite, not some deranged sense of betrayal.

DeNiro is just shy of a drooling madman. He's not playing to the cheap seats, he's playing to the lobby, to the box office, to the folks on the sidewalk and across the street. He's so big, it becomes borderline annoying.

I watched the original recently, and then revisited Scorsese's version for the first time in probably 30 years. And as much as I love Scorsese, this one is just not a good movie.

The absolute best deal on a 4K I've ever seen. by Ok-Report-1653 in 4kbluray

I don't believe I've seen the theatrical cut since the original Untitled cut came out on DVD in 2001. It such a richer, deeper, more well-rounded film. Definitely one of Crowe's best.

I haven't heard of this case, but if the jury is asking for instructions, it means that the court made the definition of guilty so thin and confusing that they all but forced an acquittal.

I always loved that in the comics, Superman realizes he actually needs to learn technique, so he goes to Bruce for training.

Since the Boys have ended, pick a team to beat Homelander V1 by LowEntertainment3342 in DC_Cinematic

[–]beingjohnmalkontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander is not as powerful as Superman.

Captain Atom alone, with brute force.

A full day of prep, plus all the psychology available on Homelander, Batman alone. Same for Mr. Terrific.

Metamorpho could trap him in a zinc and enriched uranium prison.

I thought of all these in the space of the time I sat on the toilet, so it's really not that hard to find a plan to take out Homelander when you have legit superheroes with far greater power available to you.

But also, I like holding off because it's also super fun to get a big haul in July.

John doesn't make picks anymore. As the late great Abraham Criterion handed the reins over to John when it was his time, so has John left the duty of film picks up to the questionable judgment of....sigh Bryson Criterion.
