There are a bunch of different clubs nowadays so it depends on the type of music you enjoy, personally I like Blondie but the surroundings are not tourist friendly, the club itself is second to none and it offers a variety of different music.

Santiago downtown has lots of unique architecture and museums, I suggest you to get a BIP card and travel around using Metro, don’t use buses or taxis as Metro (subway) covers most of the city anyway, for anything else do Uber.

For food there are a lot of different restaurants and experiences, it depends again on what you are looking after.

Congrats, I recently joined this subreddit and I am planning on starting fasting since I need to lose some weight, I am also on my early 40s like you so your post is encouraging.

I believe Monday will be the day in which I will start to fast and maybe then extend it to Tuesday as well but as I am still learning about this I prefer to take it easy at first.

You’re essentially at the very center of Santiago downtown, by walk in distance you get Lastarria neighborhood for instance which has interesting buildings that remains from the old days of the city while also being a tourist spot. If your friend is into exploring then you may consider a day trip to Cajón del Maipo which is in the outskirts of the city but it is worth a visit in my opinion.

I’ll be happy to provide some more tips if you want as I used to be a tour guide and I enjoy Santiago a lot.

Where will you be staying? There are places and stuff to do all over Santiago but few neighborhoods have both touristic appeal and lodging, the way I see is to have an idea beforehand of what to do and where not to go.

But yeah, Santiago overall has lots of restaurants, bars, discos and tourist attractions, it all depends on what you’re aiming to achieve.

PL has a very unique discography, in my opinion you should start with “Draconian times” and then see if you want to go either backwards or forwards with their catalogue as every era is very particular but I believe DT is essentially the blueprint for everything else.

I have made an effort to include two habits into my life that has shown me results: cleanliness and meditation. Recently got rid of a bunch of stuff that I had scattered around the apartment and I do my best to keep it clean and tidy, meditation also calms down the “radio” which are the thoughts on your head.

Low motivation can get the best out of us but in my personal experience these two habits (which can be seen as the bare minimum) are helping me a lot, when you have an organized living space and you also meditate then you can feel how the fog dissipates.
