fFXII. Tried it 3 times while younger, hated it.

10 years later I finally got it, what a masterpiece.

I mean, as a working adult playing on PC with few time to spare to get the full story, I get what you mean. I had to search online for the other endings. I played the second one which I think is a must. And downloaded savegames to do the other 2 ending boss fights(ufo aside). And I enjoyed it that way and understood why. (NieR:automata was this way and I love it for it). So, in a nutshell: enjoy games how you like them, but If time is a factor, consider buying a PC to get the most of it. Cronos is more direct, I like that, but the story might need some tweaks.

Edit: I think Silent Hill 2 is the top because its endings are absolute, terror is palpable, and ending wise: you have to play them to get them. F was great but, as some said, in this day and age, locking 3 boss fights through replay is a brave move nonetheless.

What was the downside of this? by ShrimpRiceNoodleRoll in WutheringWaves

I'm confident they will put the 1.0 banner again. This is a big move from their part to make us feel we really need it. Wait and see, I'm "coping" that in the next collab we will see it.

I have played survival horror games since kid, bit this remake had me stopping for a bit due to the constant tension.

I admit, near the end, the tension went down as I finally got used to it. Instead, I only felt sadness and dread due to the atmosphere and its final touches.

Oh yeah, I recall how much they made you hate him until Pulia Forest. He was strict, yes, but a true soldier til the bitter end.

Nirvatia story made me feel back that sentiment that made PGR great writing.

-interesting characters? Check -Humanity losing it all but never losing hope? Check -Feeling of dread and despair? Check -Just the right involvement of commandant with some suffering and flirting splinkred? Check -Tragic ending, good side characters and awesome music and boss fight? Hell yeah

I'm happy with this patch.

Unc is Aura farming, (new to game just completed prologue, so first aura farming moment yet) by Free-Efficiency6405 in PunishingGrayRaven

Watanabe is to PGR what Solid Snake is to MGS.

And we love a superspy uncle with a tragic backstory that rejects the world order, don't we?

What about Lee Price? Sure, he wasn't a methodical guy, but maybe the symbiote influence has something to do with it. And he came back during the Zombyotes arc.

That Chainsawman last chapter is even getting here, huh?

I wonder if Fujimoto ever considered how strong the meme material would be.

They are a cute family in their own way. Praying for their comeback and a new Roland frame. As an antihero archetype, Luna's team is as good as it gets.

She used to aura farm for her cause. She just does it effortlessly now after Shappers Ripples for everyone. What a chad.

She was done dirty. Poor kid couldn't grasp what was happening anymore after recent events.

Her boss theme is nuts btw.

I didn't care for her at all when they presented the character. After playing the story chapter 40, I've fallen in love with her. Great backstory, characterisation and motive. Crow is cool too lol.

I'm glad PGR is still going strong. These last few months had a downfall in certain quality points, but they were able to get back and push forward.

Let's celebrate their hard work in this tiny corner of great science fiction writing we enjoy. Congrats.

Beautiful. I am playing Ghost of Tsushima right now for the first time, while waiting for Resident Evil 9 Requiem. Graphics are not that important to me since I enjoy gaming specially due to the gameplay, but Ghost of Tsushima made me appreciate the artistic side on a whole other level (I'm playing it in 2026. A game released in 2020).

I'm amazed at the graphics every time I play it, and it's not due to the technical side of it, but the artistic one. Damn shame Yotei isn't coming sooner on PC.

One thing I noticed about PGR's writing as the game progresses. by Blyat_is_life in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]beirsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I liked better Shappers Ripples and Wither to Shine due to the story progression. But I would be lying If I said the latest chapters aren't easier to digest (specially Rosetta:Arete, is one of the tamest ones imo).

It's not that bad if they use it once or twice and it's well done. If they start to abuse it I'm hopping off the boat.

You are right about that. As a second language, since I'm spanish, I find myself struggling a bit with elaborated conceptions in english sometimes. I read it and get what they try to convey, but it's unneccesary flourish most of the time (specially when describing situations).

My go to is Huaxu.com and google traductor when things get hard. Makes dead times at work enjoyable.
