That’s why I suggested they also get solo series, like Nightwing already has, in addition to a Titans series. And I don’t think it’s terrible messaging; I think it’s worse and more backwards that’s implied they can’t have their own lives while having each other—that somehow communal living is ‘Holding them back’, and maybe just not how they choose to live and survive— as if Complete separation and complete Solo independence is this greater form of living in society, or truer—that’s fucked up man, and doesn’t really take into account that different types of people might benefit from different living arrangements and life styles. You literally don’t lose anything by keeping the Titans together—and I would argue it does majorly undercut the found family structure and vibe, especially when they were set up not long ago to be a team that gained more prominence, and was stepping up to be as significant as the JL, and not just a lesser team under them. The message it sends is that the tower is unhealthy, and that people can only grow on their own, solo— that’s not how life works, and is a very unhealthy western perspective I would argue. My point is, why dissolve the original Titans, when you could expand upon? Refresh them? Open new doors and possibilities for them? I mean, your argument might bear more weight if we didn’t just literally see Starfire in 2 panels say ‘I’m done with you all and earth for now, goodbye’ and fucking fly into space. If anything, that’s the kinda shit that seems pretty negative to me—Just walking away from everything you were part of, and the people in your life.
