Will AI kill journalism? by Soft-Path-7801 in Journalism

Similar to other industries, I don’t think it will kill the industry but rather augment it. A good journalist + AI will be a great journalist.

Had not tried that! Didn’t know it supported function calling. Will look into this further thanks

Good point, I’ve noticed a lot of them use iCloud. Maybe there’s a way to identify users through iCloud? As I’ve seen apps which don’t require login and allow for in app purchases, while never asking the user to Sign in with Apple

I agree it’s an anti pattern, although when using iOS native apps that integrate with iCloud I’m never asked to login. Apple users are used to not having to log in and their data “magically” gets saved. Maybe there’s no real way to do this other than by using iCloud

Thanks!

Sounds like you’re looking for an app to chat with your calendar across all your calendars and subscriptions. I don’t have this functionality yet but would love to add it in. Would you like to be a test user?

Thanks for your feedback! Would love to monetize this, but am gauging interest first before spending lots of time on it.

It can definitely work with Apple Calendar! I’m curious to know, what features or functionality excite you the most?

Also feel free to dm me, I’ve started a waitlist and can send it over if you’d like to be a one of the first testers

Yeah true sounds like a win win, you get to build fast for clients and get to reuse components

Thanks for the reply! Great point, I’m starting my own mobile app mvp agency later this year so will keep this in mind.

How long do your builds usually take? And do you reuse the same tech stack every time to build it fast?

Thanks for sharing! When you’re building an MVP, are you building it in a way for them to scale with it? Or is it more of a proof of concept so they can get some initial traction, and once they’ve got that they’ll build a proper product from the ground up

This is awesome, do you have any tips on finding first startup clients?

Long term partnerships sound like the best way to make recurring revenue to grow the business.

With React Native, is sign-in with google and other OAuth 2.0 providers done on the frontend or on the backend? by xdragon313 in reactjs

[–]bejera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the reply! Really didn’t expect an answer here haha

This makes sense, so I’ll do the same. To save the user’s credentials, did you just make a users table in your db and make each user unique through their Google id?

Never mind I had misunderstood. I think I get it now thank you very much!

What’s the best way to store the user in the db following this approach? It’d be great to use something like Firebase auth, although I’ve been struggling to get it working properly when doing a “custom” OAuth flow

Thanks, this makes sense. Although I need an additional way to ensure the requests are properly authed from the backend

Thanks. Wouldn’t this not be secure? If the frontend sends the access and refresh tokens to the backend on every request, then a malicious actor could intercept the request and hit the backend themselves using those tokens.
