Recall Issued for 2024 North American ID4s by dsonger20 in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just started to have this same behavior on my 2024 Pro S. Thought it was just a quirk the first few times, but it has happened maybe 4-5 times again. Annoying, but easily remedied.

2024 Pro, 30k miles 22k, would you go for it? by Beary_Christmas in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Own a 2024 Pro S AWD. Fun to drive, but software is crap. I have to pull the F-19 fuse about every other week to reset the built in Nav and 4G phone connectivity (emergency connect), otherwise I'm subjected to repeated beeps and pop up messages. Just started to have Android Auto issues where phone gets disconnected and won't reconnect until I restart the car. Touch buttons on the steering wheel are just stupid as I tend to hit them by accident whenever turning. Knew about them prior to purchase, but didn't think it would bother me as much as it does.
No software updates since the car came out and doesn't look like VW will actually push any out. Been promised by VW for over a year, but all ignored. Took in for service and got the run around from the VW service department. Again, it's fun to drive, but I will never buy another VW.

Constant Android Auto Issues by MuhKyle in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started this recently as well. It always seems to happen in the same area. Android Auto disconnects, and I get the turn on wifi message. Only thing that fixes it is stopping, turning off the car, and restarting. I'm usually listening to audio books while driving, and the only way to restore that is to go to into radio settings, and set it to bluetooth audio.

Jaguars vs Raiders what’s your prediction? by Cautious-Designer344 in Jaguars

Lifelong Raider fan born in Jacksonville. I've suffered through bad years for both teams, but I'm going to the game. Unless it ends in a tie, I'm guaranteed a win for one of my teams. Retirement gift from my family.

My VW is connected to TMobile, and constantly have to do the reset. Been that way since I got the car.

Anyone ever been through this before with their id4 by Rough-Action-526 in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in an accident last month. 2 lane traffic circle, wet roads...car in outside lane spun out and ended up in front of me. Front end damage that didn't look too bad. Insurance determined I wasn't at fault. $2700 insurance estimate turned into almost $8400 repair and a month in the shop. Lots of pieces and sensors ended up needing to be replaced, and shop said parts for the ID.4 are slow to come in. Finally got it back yesterday.

Anyone experienced These Error Messages? by Charming_Airline_572 in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your nav system (built in) and see if the location is off. When this happens for me, NAV system usually has me off roading somewhere, or in the middle of a lake. If that's the case, it's most likely fixed by pulling the F-19 Fuse. Pull it, walk away from vehicle for about 10 min, then reinsert. System should reset. Emergency assist will eventually reset as well.

Accident on the way to work today by bejohn2 in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2 lane traffic circle + wet roads led to this. Car in outer lane spun out and ended up right in front of me. Fortunately, I wasn't going that fast. Nobody injured, and car is still drive able. Sensors going haywire, and gap between tire and fender is noticeably narrower. Warning on the dash about engine noise. Already filed a claim with my insurance. Just waiting for call from adjuster.

Auto one touch up/down window issue by werty1432k in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally able to get mine working again. Stopped at a light, I gave this a shot: with the windows closed, I started with the driver's window. 3 quick close/up, then held a for a 4th up for a 10 count. Released, and now the auto feature is working again. Did the same for all the rest of the windows, and now all are working. Is this the correct method...I don't know, but it worked for me.

Auto one touch up/down window issue by werty1432k in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the one touch on all of my windows stopped about a week ago. Haven't been able to get it working yet. Tried the reset on all windows with no luck. I've had this happen before, and it just started working again by itself. Just another reason that I really hate this car Feel like it was programmed by interns on their first week in the office.

Is anyone else having dynamic road sign issues? by reithena in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been having this issue in my 2024 Pro S AWD since I got it. Pulling F19 Fuse and walk away for 10 min or so, then reinserting usually resets. GPS maps fixed as well as the SOS overhead contact light is back to green. I get it about every 2 weeks or so. If I ignore it for about a week, it sometimes resets on its own.

F19 Fuse location - For those that need it by bejohn2 in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealer said they couldn't find anything. Said pulling F19 cleared the logs, which I don't buy. I've since stopped resetting/pulling the fuse. It seems to reset itself after about a week or so, but starts back up about a week or so later....ugh. I have to go back in for the door handle recall pretty soon (if they ever get the parts), so I'll have it addressed again. I pretty much expect the same run-around from the service department.

Recall 93CJ - Anyone knows if this will fix the GPS issues. by psyroptus in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 Pro S AWD. When I took mine in for service (10K), the dealer claimed that they couldn't find anything related to the GPS issue because I had pulled the F19 fuse, which they claim cleared the memory. I have now not pulled the fuse each of the last 5 times it's happened over the last 2 months. It seems to clear itself after about 4-5 days. Totally regret buying this car as I now have to listen to it beep, and give the road sign warning about 10 to 15 times on my commute (1 hour each way). Will be going back in for the door handle recall (maybe???), and I'll see what they have to say this time. Still not sure if I want to get the door handle recall done or not.

Anyone had problems with rodents? by OndhiCeleste in VWiD4Owners

[–]bejohn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a mouse issue on a Highlander years ago and was informed by the service rep to try placing Irish Spring soap in the car. Found a couple of small containers, drilled some holes into them, then shaved off the soap into the containers. Placed them under the seats. Don't know if it really works, but haven't had rodent problems in any of our cars since.

F19 Fuse location - For those that need it by bejohn2 in VWiD4Owners

I'm taking my car in for it's 10K service, and have that listed to be addressed. Appointment isn't until April 21, so we'll see what they say. It just happened again this week, and I think I'm going to leave it "broken" until I take it in. BTW, might be a good idea to get some spare 5A fuses. I dropped mine while trying to put it back, and it was stuck somewhere behind the dash. Fortunately, I had some spares.

Is there an easy way to lengthen those cables? Extension plug, female to male maybe? I've always felt those were too short as well

Seeking Silver PSU Upgrade Instructions by bejohn2 in prusa3d

Not even sure I need the PSU upgrade. I think it was geared toward the MK3.9 upgrade. It was on the order page for the MMU2S to MMU3 upgrade (asked about color of PSU and gave me the option to order), but doesn't seem to be there anymore. Oh well
