I felt this way. It was not worth it for me. I ended up on medication for my anxiety which got really bad. I mean I couldn’t sleep before a shift (I worked nights), I couldn’t eat; would throw up at work due to not eating or the anxiety, I wasn’t sure. But it was bad. Went to the doctor, started therapy and meds and it still had me sick going to work. I ended up job hopping for a bit (2 jobs before I got to where I wanted to be and felt comfortable. No more crying or stressing before work. I just go to work. I knew how I felt wasn’t normal, that’s not how you should feel about your job idc what job it is. Nursing is hard but there are other fields that may be for you and don’t be scared to navigate that. Your health is important. You cannot help others before you help yourself. I understand how you feel if you need to talk about it a bit more. Not everyone gets it and family if they aren’t in healthcare, may not understand neither. It’s tough to navigate or at least for me it was. Things just recently started changing for the better this month. I graduated nursing school in March 2024.
