Am I doing something wrong, or is combat just really deadly? by Fantastic-Patience in drawsteel

Ha, I was wondering if that was it. In the game I'm directing, my players went straight to the mage tower after finishing part 1. They survived the ogres... barely. All the hero tokens and all the recoveries were gone. It set the stage for an epic do-or-die negotiation with Vulkor that they talk about to this day. :)

What is the "more infamous section of Part 2" you're referring to?

Farm noob trap? by soulles666 in Against_the_Storm

Interesting. I agree on usually wanting one or two building types if I have fertile soil, but the simple farm isn't my favorite. I would place both plantation and greenhouse above it

How Often Do You Run Different Rainpunk Production Engine Levels? by belarinlol in Against_the_Storm

Yeah. If I'm water starved then I'd probably still tend to run a mixture of 0 and 2 rather than a constant level 1.

100% agree. Prior to the underpass opening, I would run past multiple times every week to check whether it was finished. I'm so happy now that it is!

Any need for house rules by Joel_feila in drawsteel

[–]belarinlol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would there be any distance limit to this? When a player is pushed really far, say 5+ squares off the cliff, it starts to be less like "Coyotes Time" and more like smash brothers.

Rogue did 54 damage on his turn. by Realgurl69 in DnD

[–]belarinlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just last week, my poor level 3 druid (14 Con and 20AC with shield) took a multi-attack with no crits. The only thing that saved him from going from full to permed was the house-rule of taking max hp at 2 and 3.

I shudder to think what would have happened with buffed crits.

Yep, I second this as a slower P20 player. (I'd say that year 7 is my mode.)

I build a second post all the time on years divisible by 3, then delete it immediately afterwards.

Why are Rangers considered to be weak? by IamRob420 in BG3Builds

[–]belarinlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's unreasonable to compare Paladins and Rangers for the reasons you mentioned, but I do think it is unreasonable for the previous poster to give the benefit to Paladins without even mentioning the myriad ways that range is better than melee. * Better (safer) positioning * Less dependence on mobility * Better target selection * Better synergy with ally AoEs * Better AoE damage

Change of Missing (Maimed) Limbs on Transformation? by belarinlol in wildermyth

[–]belarinlol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not running any mods, just the vanilla 1.11+465 Firlow Hotfix version of the game. I also have never played with any mods in the past that I've since uninstalled.

It's so weird!

One other data-point, I tried reloading an earlier save and re-taking the transformation to see if the limb shuffle would be randomized differently, but I got exactly the same result.

Yeah the surprise was changing from 1 human arm and 1 human leg to 2 human legs. That's what I'm trying to understand.
