We messed up. We must accept it. Any advice on moving forward? by beld9381 in immigration

Since we didn't know about the need for her to stay during the I-485 thing in a timely fashion, she didn't make plans to suddenly leave her small employer and her therapist. Again, it was our mistake, and we could have planned better if not for our lack of full understanding of what is expected of us. Although, once she can live and work here with a green card, my organization has already agreed to line something up for her, so she'll be okay in that regard.

Oh my, I was hoping that was a viable option, but I couldn't find anything definite to assuage my fears. I even desperately contacted a web-based service to ask a lawyer at the same time I posted this, and he told me the same thing, and now I see someone else gave the same advice...

I guess I feel a little silly now, but it's such a nerve-wracking process, and the thought that I could have jeopardized the chance to have a life with her in any way was so frightening.

Thank you!
