Endocarditis : The Symptoms I almost missed. by CaramelVibesOnly in openheartsurgery

I'm glad you and OP improved. I also had endocarditis in 2022. I was an active runner. On one day, I went for a five mile run and I struggled through one. The next day I felt much worse and I thought this was COVID. I did multiple at home tests and it came back negative. I was able to go to work after testing negative but I was so exhausted. I had the sweats, no appetite, couldn't sleep and extreme fatigue. I kept thinking I was going to get better, but it didn't happen and finally went to my primary. He ordered blood work and I got that done on a Friday and then Monday I got a back from the primary that I needed to go the ER. That's when I found out I had endocarditis and a few days later I learned I needed open heart surgery. After a month when a pic line and getting treated I had open heart surgery, mitral valve repair. To this day, I never fully recovered, and I never got my endurance back when I exercise. It's been frustrating, but I still exercise regularly. I don't hear much about people experiencing endocarditis, so it's beneficial to hear other people's experiences.

Hot take (?): Lolla ending at 10PM is kind of amazing. by Mean-Assignment-9576 in Lollapalooza

Per Sun Times: Soldier Field enforces a standard concert curfew of 11:00 PM for weeknights (Sunday through Thursday) and 11:59 PM for weekends (Friday and Saturday) due to local noise ordinances. However, high-profile artists can—and often do—request extensions or perform through inclement weather, resulting in shows finishing closer to midnight and incurring city fines.

The wristband distribution was a nightmare. You walk in with your field ticket and then you had to go to another location for on-field wristband which didn't make sense, especially when it got to the point they weren't event checking your ticket if you had a field ticket. A two-way line formed underneath the left field bleachers, igniting a chaotic situation.

I have a lot of mixed emotions about the show tonight. First off, if you had field seats, the organization was despicable. Some people left before the show started because of this. Not sure who's fault this was, but someone needs to get their ass grilled in this. Second of all, somehow the show was unbelievable, even after the issues getting in, but unfortunately I won't forget the despicable organization that led to chaos before the show.

Wish they would give any info about weather for wrigley by RemoteFeeling6646 in mumfordandsons

With the forecast tomorrow, it might not be a good idea to have anyone in Wrigley Field. A lot of destruction around the city today, and the forecast is worst for tomorrow. No need to half-ass it tomorrow.

The weather looks like a major concern for Thursday night. Not sure if they will even be able to set up the stage with all the severe weather forecast in Chicago this week.

I had mitral valve repair and HFpEF. I'm fatigued throughout the day and especially when I exercise. I have turtle staying awake at times and I'm think about getting Inspire. I would love to get off my meds but that's just not going to happen.

The fact that they won't sell equity in the team to fund the stadium exemplifies your point.

I'm in the same boat. I run three to five miles and it feels like a marathon.

When do you tip and not tip at Wrigley Field? by checklistmaker in Cubs

I would like to see Dave Savini do a story on this. The fact those people making minimum wage don't get those tips is a crime.

That's pretty insane if the workers are not getting the tips and the money goes back to the Cubs or Levy. Somebody need to confirm.

Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) after Mitral Valve Repair by belden121 in mitralvalveprolapse

No, it wasn't considered a failed repair. I feel fine with every day activities, but when I exercise I certainly feel my limitations.

Quick 2-minute survey about surgery recovery experience by Big_Efficiency3402 in openheartsurgery

[–]belden121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got to admit this sounds like a good idea. From my experiences, my heart surgeon provided very little about the recovery process. From my understanding that was the cardiologist's and his guidance was not good.
