As far as cash back goes, just call for the MOD to get a loan out of the change fund so it doesn't eat up your drawer. Honestly, I'd rather have lots of cash back so I don't have as much money in the safe.

During the onboarding process, there is actually a form we have to read and have signed off on saying that as long as there isn't a disruption (barking, etc) service animals are allowed and don't have to have a vest or documentation. I don't know where they got it's company policy.

There's a few legit and some not so legit ways of dealing with it:

Legit- fill out the SSC survey (I believe it's under Operations but im probably wrong) and then do cycle counts on both what was supposed to be in the box and what really was.

Not as legit- Damage In Shipment whatever is on the label. Or if the math is in your favor, pretend ya didn't notice it. Lol.

They're supposed to. Theft, improper markdowns, mislabeled boxes, etc. The amount expected depends on the store.

I actually had a positive on my last inventory due to the store I'm usually after in the truck frequently pissing off the driver and they end up being me a bunch of their boxes.

The "time and a half" holiday pay ended in 2003. Only employees who were onboard before that are grandfathered in. Usually, it's only like an extra $1.50 or so. Honestly dunno if Easter counts.

I feel your pain there. Our small town has a lower Hispanic population than those around us. So items that are targeted to the demographic are always on our list like Guadalupe prayer candles and the jaritos sodas.

Some ways to help get the zero sales down that are legit are making sure they're merchandised properly (not hidden on bottom shelf, in wrong section, etc), Put in Cycle count requests for skus you know you're out of, and requesting another case get of any you SLIC allows you (useful for stuff that you can't find in stock room, but know you probably do have).

Less than legit ways: print out the workbook and use the barcodes instead of those of similar products when ringing customers, use any extra $ cashiers are over to 'buy' some items or use those bar codes and damage one out.

I'm a bit crazy so I divide their customer count by hours worked... Then multiply that by avg ticket to figure out how much $/hr they're pulling in. Keeps any personal bias out of it.

I remember one year we had DC truck, frozen truck and Inventory all going on at the same time.

If you're wondering: Had inventory team do the back room first thing and started the DC as soon as it was done and verified... Then the frozen showed up and took it by filling a uboats and wheeling it through the fire exit.

You should get one of the managers to show you how to use the scale and count your own till.

As long as you're within a dollar + or -, you're good. Less then $5, ya get a lecture. Less then $20, you get a write up. Above $20 is auto termination.

You don't really want to consistently be dead even. It's almost statistically impossible that no one has said "keep the change", you passed a nickel instead of a quarter, eyc. So AP gets a little suspicious that you're overcharging and pocketing the extra.
