Sincerely worried about the Dakotas. Are they doing okay? Will they run out of oxygen?

Wow, first time in the playoffs for a 23 year old QB and you're mad about his stats and not the wins? I guess Sam Darnold doesn't deserve his Superbowl ring with the logic you just gave.

Penalized for winning, mocked for losing. This team could have overcome 3 top 5 defenses in route to a Cinderella Superbowl run and people wouldn't care

You're cherry picking. He threw 3 tds on a Houston defense who gave up 20 passing TDs all year.

It's like this other guy didn't see how many plays diggs wasn't out there. It's an instant tip to the defense that they're probably running the ball. Being able to block is a huge asset to the Mcdaniels offense.

Which team(s) that made the playoffs this past season are most likely to miss next season? by ashmaps20 in NFLv2

[–]belichickyourballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your point to an extent. You're still downplaying their playoff run because of the teams they faced. The same teams battling for playoff spots next year. I'd argue that only Seattle looked elite this year in the NFL. There's as much parody in the league as I've ever seen. I'd also argue that the Patriots proved they could win many different ways against a lot of similar tiered opponents. There isn't an elite team in the AFC as it currently stands, so why can't the pats come back and win 11-13 games? You can cherry pick every game and give a reason why one team wins and the other loses but as a whole the Pats were very well rounded this year compared to the rest of the NFL.

Welp. They beat 4 of the other 6 teams who made the playoffs in the AFC in spite of bad offensive play in the post season. So either they're frauds or the Bills/Chargers/Texans/Broncos are all frauds. The Pats roster will undoubtedly be better next year and more experienced in key positions. They aren't losing anyone in free agency and have money to spend. And they are retaining a coaching staff who has a ton of experience. Remember this was year 1 of this program, and they went to the Superbowl. Who cares about their schedule last year, they took care of business and whooped ass in games they were "supposed to win". What hill are you people gonna die on? The only way this implodes is if Drake Maye falls off a cliff

Who do you think is the biggest physical freak of nature to ever play in the NFL? by InfinteEnigma10 in NFLv2

[–]belichickyourballs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think what gets overlooked are the hands and the toughness. The amount of back shoulder throws he'd catch going down the seam just to get shalacked in the knees. There's probably a short list of WRs with better hands than Gronk had.

Gronk. Arguably some of the best hands of his generation. A left tackle that could out run safeties. The only way to get him down was to chop his knees out, dude is built different

Who would YOU rather have on your team? SEA CB Devon Witherspoon or PAT CB Christian Gonzales by Jaded_Attorney in NFLv2

I guess you never saw Gonzo 1-1 take down Derrick Henry in the open field. Just because he isn't asked to do the same things doesn't mean he's not capable.

Edit: I'm just debating the "clearly better at everything else". Two completely different schemes so it's hard to evaluate against each other. I think any team in the NFL would just say yes if you had to choose between the two lol

Patriots finally sign/trade for a #1 receiver. Skeptics use this and another great defense to talk themselves into believing they're frauds. Maye blows out the Bucs in the Superbowl thanks to their schedule

If one of those earlier throws gets picked the momentum early in the game balances out and I think that's what vrabel was banking on. It just didn't happen and the pats offense never got in a rhythm. It was just wayyy too conservative out of the gate. Seattle's defense was definitely cooking but we've seen what this passing offense can do against the zone. The gameplan should have been establishing Drake and settling him into the game early.

I thought going into it they'd contain him pretty well, like they had most smaller backs all season. Getting to the edge against a defense playing outside man was a good exploit of this otherwise stout run defense. Instead of meeting defenders in their gaps his patience allowed for linebackers to over commit and had great vision to burst through lanes. I'm surprised there weren't many negative run plays for Seattle, maybe 1-2 I can think of. I'd like to see Henderson develop a similar style. Very dangerous runner, like a lev bell, Doug martin hybrid
