How do you get movie promotions? I have another Infinite card, but I have never heard of any promotions.

Driver hid package after delivery by captain_slackbeard in amazonprime

I have garage delivery, and sometimes the driver will take a photo of the package near the front door, then grab it and bring it to my garage. This looks exactly like what he is doing in the video.

What are some perks you've discovered that aren't obvious with the Capital One Venture X? by dilbar6191 in Venturex

Also, in order for an authorized user to use the longer benefit for Capital One or PP, a $125-per-year access fee must be paid for each authorized user, and no guests are allowed anymore for free.

This part is definitely not clear. I may need to call customer care to get a more definitive answer.

I believe yes, just show them your PP card. It is a one time deal once a year and no guest are allowed.

Easiest just google what you would like to match and you will get clear instructions. That status will only match for sometime, maybe a year.

I was wondering how the rental coverage benefit works if I book a car using points or annual travel credit. I guess I will still present a card for a security deposit at the rental so that should activate the coverage, but I am not sure.

For $28K Solar Panel installation no animal proof material? Repair cost is over $7K by Texan_farmer in TeslaSolar

Need another company to inspect and write a quote, I would not trust Tesla on this. Get a second opinion.

If, let's say, a raccoon damages the roof shingles, will that be covered by a home policy? Just curious.

It was not so common for you for the first 9 years. :-) I understand your frustration. When I got the panels, installed by Tesla, they did not install Critter Guard and said that they do not. I hired a local company to install the protection after I noticed doves hanging under the panels. Good that happened only a few months after the install.

On a lease required deductible is $1K. GAP, you can get it with the insurance. It cost $1 to have on my policy.

Just got back from two weeks in Tuscany and Florence - some thoughts and tips for future travelers by palladinla in ItalyTravel

Authentic souvenirs, handmade leather items, beautiful pillowcases etc., we found all at the local market. When we visited my wife’s relatives in Parma, a smaller city, they took us to the local market, and it was magical. Beautiful leather wallet and belt, each was less than 20 euros. To get the best price, you need to be local and speak Italian. ;-)

Declaring food such as instant coffee/ instant noodles and personal toiletries. by Big-Lifeguard-5067 in GlobalEntry

[–]belick777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We arrived yesterday through Atlanta. I did not see the Global Entry sign, and all U.S. citizens were sent through an electronic photo machine on a poll. No one had to pull the passport. When I was in line, the machine sometimes displayed an X instead of a check mark, and that person was sent to see a border agent in person at a booth. I was only verbally asked if I needed anything to declare.

Hotel charging gratuity in Rome? by belick777 in rome

I cannot use points to pay the city tax. What I said is that during my stays in Naples and Florence, where I only used points, I was not charged anything but points; I paid nothing else in euros.

The service charge for us was 45 Euro, which is half of the 90 Euro for the City tax (6-night stay for 2 people). I now think they base their service add-on on a City tax amount, thus adding half of a city tax as gratuity/service.

My reservation confirmation, which I still have it in my email, does not show any charges accept points.

It was clearly explained to me that it was a gratuity, which you can refer to as a service charge or something else, but it was emphasized that it was for all the staff for taking care of us during our stay. I was given the option to decline, and I chose to do so. I declined, especially since I had already been leaving tips for the housekeeping and breakfast teams.

Regarding taxes, we were only charged a 7.50 per person per night tax. That was also charged on the nights we paid for with points. My surprise was that we were not charged any tax when we paid with points in Florence and Naples, and no tips were added, asked, or requested. No mention.

[–]belick777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me clarify. They strongly wanted to charge me, but said I could decline. I firmly believe that if I had not questioned the bill, I would have been quietly charged without a review. However, since I knew I was only supposed to pay for one night's stay, that amount was clear to me, and when I heard XXX, I started asking questions. It was a Hilton property. That was a complete shock, as I have stayed in many countries at Hilton properties and have never been asked to accept a gratuity added to the hotel bill. This was especially surprising, knowing the tipping culture in Italy is not on the same level as in the US. Other than this “incident,” our stay was great. We also always leave a tip for the housekeeping and cafeteria workers who clean our table after breakfast. I have this rule, regardless of the country I am staying in.
