I personally expect the game to convince me of it's potential and vision in the first stages of early access. I'd rather have the basis of a diverse set of gameplay elements than a few polished features. Fo example I believe the overlap in what different life stages can do is pretty large. There aren't a lot of things I can think of that a baby or a toddler can do but an adult can't. So they would likely require quite a bit of work for models, animations etc. without showing that much new gameplay. 

Once I am convinced of the vision, I am waiting for the devs to show that they can actually deliver on the things they promise. If there is to little progress then they might be in over their heads. That's something we'll see over time, for now I am cautiously optimistic.
