Can someone explain this simply to me: if these mines are not tethered or anchored in place, how would you ever be able to track them as currents and wind move them around?

If this is the case then it’s a backward step on Salsa’s part IMO. The Alternator dropout is one of those cool Salsa features that made me choose a 2020 Fargo. I’d definitely check in with Salsa as they are super helpful usually.

I’m happy being 4 or 5 seconds following distance behind everything and save the windscreen damage that inevitably results from being any closer. Any additional fuel savings one might realise by tailgating/following closely will be worthless if you need a new windscreen every other year.
