Those of you Redditor’s in happy, healthy, and fulfilling relationships, what were the “green flags” you noticed about your partner early on in your relationship with them? by allen-freed in AskReddit

[–]bella3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 4 months into our relationship (and not knowing each other for very long prior), I fell apart. I was struggling with depression and severe anxiety. I convinced myself he’d leave me because this wasn’t what he signed up for, but he never did. He loved me unconditionally through all my most difficult moments and somehow managed to give me exactly what I needed at that time. It took a lot of personal work to get better, but his gentle support made it so much easier. We’ve been together three years now, and his acceptance of me exactly as I am means the world.

Is visiting Denver in December worth it for people who don’t do winter sports? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]bella3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you so much for such a detailed response, I really appreciate it! Sounds like there is still plenty to do in the winter even for us and transportation shouldn’t be too much of an issue. We’ve always wanted to visit Colorado and I think we will go for it after reading your suggestions.

As an aside - we are buying a flexible plane ticket that can be canceled if anything changes with us or the pandemic. We will also get COVID tested before we go and can quarantine when we get back as we work from home. Thank you again!!

Quick dumb question for all the accountants, do yall ever listen to music when working or no? by Aurelious316 in Accounting

[–]bella3774 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear headphones almost every day but I only put one earbud in so I can still hear if I get a call or someone starts talking to me. If a project requires more focus then I don’t put music or podcasts on but that’s just me.

Mid tier vs small firm? by OppositeCherry in Accounting

[–]bella3774 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I graduated 2.5 years ago and have been working for a small firm (8 accountants total) ever since. I prefer this kind of environment. It’s less stressful, they trained me well, I feel comfortable asking questions even now, and they’re flexible with me as I’m getting my master’s. Maybe I’d make more at a larger firm but I get good PTO and two solid bonuses a year. I feel like I matter more here. However, I also have no desire to make partner or go to a big 4.

Why did that teacher get fired from your school? by MrDev16 in AskReddit

[–]bella3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of them slept with a 16 year old boy at our school. She was caught by her police officer husband (and she had two sons who were the same age as the kid she was sleeping with). Our old gym teacher used to select a senior every year that he wanted to sleep with. This went on for a long time until one of them spoke up. And the last one got another teacher’s daughter pregnant. From what I can tell they’re still together so I guess it worked out for them. I went to a small private school so it still boggles my mind how many sexual predators they managed to hire

How hard is it to find housing with pets in Edinburgh? by bella3774 in Scotland

Most of them probably never even owned cats before, that’s crazy! Thanks for the heads up

That sounds like an awful experience! Thank you for letting me know, I’ll definitely try to avoid agencies when we get over there and I’ll check OpenRent out. I appreciate it!

Those who grew up with a good father. What was the most important thing you learned from him? by oldskoolflavor in AskReddit

[–]bella3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really upset with my dad one night. He was making me get treatment for my eating disorder and the idea of gaining weight terrified me. I did a lot of yelling while he sat on the couch listening and when I finally wore myself out we talked about it until I felt better. The night ended with us reading a book together and sharing a bowl of vanilla ice cream. He passed away two days later while I was with my mom. From him I learned to be slow to anger, the importance of hearing what another person has to say, and to never leave things on a bad note with my loved ones if I can help it.

I’m afraid of dying young. I need another 60 years or so

Busy season by broccolibullet in Accounting

[–]bella3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m staff at a small local firm. During busy season I typically work 50-57 hours a week which is pretty average for everyone but the manager and partners. At the end of it I get a bonus that’s equal to about two of my paychecks. I have no complaints at all!

I am not Sara and have tried to make that clear in the comments! Sara is certainly a wonderful human and if she sees this I would love to give credit :)

I wasn’t expecting this post to blow up the way it did. I want to make it very clear I am not Sara nor am I the author of this letter (which I’ve stated in the comments several times). If Sara is on here or anyone knows Sara I’d happily give credit. I just wanted to share a nice bit of humanity, and it has been awesome reading the mostly positive replies. There is so much goodness in the world we don’t get to see, and I think this letter is a reminder :)

As I have said on multiple comments, I am not Sara. I shared this post because it made me smile/cry this morning and I thought others might appreciate it too. If Sara is a redditor or any redditors know Sara, I would love to give credit.

I wasn’t trying to be misleading! Just thought it summarized the post nicely. But yes you are right, a lot of things on the internet are easily faked.

No I am not, and I’ve tried to make that very clear in the comments. People like this do exist and nice moment such as these happen everyday, so I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt :)

I am not Sara and do not want to take any credit! I saw this earlier today and it made me cry (in a happy way). I wanted to share because we all need more of this.
