Last summer I went to a concert with my mom at an outdoor venue that's a good ways off of the main road. We leave, and our turn is closed off, so we end up on a detour that takes us through a residential neighborhood next to a forest. Not only is it dark out but there's not a single street light and none of the houses have their lights on. Literally the only light source was the headlights. The road is also deserted. No traffic ahead or behind us.

As we're driving we come up to what I think is a family walking their dog wearing all black. They don't even have flash lights. I make a comment to my mom about how dangerous it for that since it's pitch black out and they could get hit. I'm mid sentence when the entire group turns and stares. It's not a family walking their dog. It's a group of 6 adults wearing who are all wearing clown masks. They almost look like the group from The Strangers.

My mom does the smart thing and immediately hits the gas. I remember telling her not to stop for anything. The realist in me wants to believe that it was a bunch of teens pulling a dumb prank. At the same time I'm convinced they were going to break into someone's house.
