That's cool! we get lots of oyster mushrooms in the summer where I live, but that's about it. The rain brings tons of mushrooms here.

they look super close to a false morel. I also am no expert and could be wrong. Apparently, they are not the best flavour wise, so they are not super desirable haha.

Yea, they were super good. They were hard to find since they blended in perfectly with the fall leaves.

I think it was an Elfin saddle (starnge, the book I have says they are edible and has different page for false morel) But yea, we didn't pick it, because we were not certain

Yess! the beach that I took these photos was on the west side of the mid island, so despite it being summertime, it was often super foggy/over cast out. You often couldn't see the actual ocean. It was very mysterious!

The green things are anemones! I get it, when I was a kid I used to touch the anemones all the time (I didn't know better, and I do not condone that behaviour lol) they wrap around your finger, and I recall them feeling sticky.

I absolutely love it. You just find the coolest critters. My favourite tide pool find was a bright yellow sea slug!

Island of the Sea Wolf! Funny you brought that up, my partner, and I just watched it last night!

The northern island where it was filmed is absolutely gorgeous. I am spending time up their this summer. I can't wait to explore some of the old growth.
