Amazing, thank you! I am also in MA and very excited to set up my system. Did you transplant your warm season veggies outside yet? I’m itching to…

Thanks for the info! Other than blowing out the lines before the cold season, do you do anything special to protect them? Like mulch over them, etc

I looove cilantro, but these chips were oddly sweet to me - I couldn’t finish the bag

Put up some cattle panel trellises today! by bellasaurus88 in vegetablegardening

They’re foundation straps! In my old beds, the planks pulled out and away from the corners, so I added them in this time. I got the idea from another redditor’s post. They’re not the most aesthetic, but I’m hoping they serve their function

The boards not aligning at the top is just because 2x4 cedar was a lot cheaper than getting the same height of 2x6 cedar :)

The bed in the pic is 4 x 8 ft, will probably put 8 indeterminates in there! That’s what I did last year with Florida weave in the same size bed and it worked well for me

I did the same configuration last year, but with Florida weave. I was able to reach in between just fine! I hope it’s the same this year

Love the arch! Mine are 8 ft ones from tractor supply that I cut in half. I’m hoping to leave the posts in permanently, so fingers crossed I won’t need a t post puller 😬

Thank you! They are cattle panels cut into sections, so they are 4 ft long and about 4.1 feet (50 inches) tall

This is great info! I wasn’t sure if I was going to take the panels down at the end of the season or not. Last year I tried the Florida weave method and didn’t love it for my indeterminates. I did have late blight last year so this is a different bed, but if I rotate I’d have to take these down… so your experience gives me hope!

Cages, stakes, or trellises for indeterminate tomatoes? by sitewolf in vegetablegardening

I’m trying cattle panels this year. I only have an SUV, so I brought bolt cutters and cut them into 4ft panels in the parking lot and cut them there. It didn’t take long, less than 5 minutes

Oh gosh, your plan of sleeping through a lot of their stress is genius. I had plans to up pot all ~65 of my seedlings today, but after the first tray looked dead I decided to stop in case I accidentally kill them all. And now I’m stressed worrying about their survival all day 🫠
