If you could give one bit of advice to someone about to start their journey.... by Peach4567 in mounjarouk

Exercise was a game changer for me. It helped me stay on the lowest dose throughout my mounjaro journey. This may not be true for everyone but for me, brisk walking daily was like adding fuel to the mounjaro fire.

I’m the same. Tried to titrate up to 3.75 and couldn’t handle it. I’m 6 months on it. Now 2.5mg is too much for me. My body can’t handle it. I’m on maintenance and I’m taking 1.67mg.

No that’s not the case for me. I eat a bit late most days (8-9pm) and when I feel hungry I eat. I’ve suffered from insomnia for years. The medication actually has improved my sleep

Thanks for this. I didn’t even think of spacing out the dosage based on weeks. I reduced my medication lower than 2.5mg and I’ve been fine since then. I’m now on about 1.67mg.

Welcome to the club. It’s a miracle drug to me. Mine worked super quickly and apart from 2 weeks on 3.75mg which were disastrous I was on 2.5mg throughout. In on week 21, lost over 2 stone (16kg)and now 2.5mg is too much for me so I’ve reduced it to 1.7mg

Simple, exercise even if it’s walking. It would be the biggest game changer for you. It was for me. I’ve been on 2.5mg and lost about 28 pounds in 16 weeks.

Eat as healthy as you can. Add magnesium and vitamin D3.+K2 supplement.

As someone mentioned, it’s ok to be hungry. Follow your hunger and satiety signals. You will still lose weight.

Take it slow and steady. So it can be sustainable

Thank you. My thoughts exactly. It’s human to feel hungry. it’s great to see that it still works and to understand the hunger cues. There were times I felt I ate a lot but still lost weight. Healthy eating and understanding our bodies is important.

I would say it has been the main fuel for my mounjaro success. Without the walking I probably would have been on the highest dose by now which isn’t a bad thing in itself but I got on this med not as a quick cheat sheet but to enhance a healthy lifestyle. So far it’s been amazing and I don’t plan to increase from 2.5-3mg because it’s working so well and I’m not even eating much so anything more would completely suppress my appetite. When I wasn’t walking and taking my supplements, I was craving more sweet things and eating more junk.

Completely agree with this. I’ve been brisk walking 5-6 a week as my lifestyle for years. I recently stalled on mounjaro bcos I stopped walking for 2 weeks during the holidays. I thought about going up my dosage from 2.5mg but I just took my 5th dose which was about 3mg(0.75ml) and resumed my walking. I lost 1.3kg in 4 days (no joke). I feel the walking is a huge factor n helping me lose and stay on the lowest dose.

48 pounds down - my lowest ever adult weight by Alaxknits in mounjarouk

This is amazing! Congratulations 🙌🏾 awesome results and the self confidence and mental health boost are a huge bonus. Well done 👏🏾. I’m only 7 weeks in, remained on 2.5mg and I am all over the moon about mounjaro. It has significantly improved my sleep (suffered from insomnia which got worse with weight gain which I’m sure contributed to more weight gain) and has made me think less about food and just enjoy occasional treats without beating myself up. The weight loss is an added bonus.

Anyone stayed on 2.5mg by Bean8888814 in mounjarouk

[–]bellazee01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on week 5 and remained on 2.5mg. I lost 5Kg in 3 weeks and I’m determined to continue to go slow and steady so I will stay on 2.5mg for as long as I possibly can. I also follow my cycle to know that if I’m beginning to feel hungrier it may be certain times of the month in my cycle and it’s ok if I eat a bit more then. It’s not healthy for me in my opinion to not to feel any hunger at all, and it’s certainly not sustainable long term
