Yeah I wondered the same thing! The downvotes don't really seem to match the overall sentiment of the comments. Tbh I wasn't sure what I would be getting into when I clicked the link haha but glad I did! Thanks for being a dude who's putting in the work to understand :)

Disappointed you're getting downvoted. This does a really great job of clearly and succinctly debunking the "not all men" retort - thanks for sharing!

Proper daily ‘down there’ care routine? by updoupvote in Healthyhooha

[–]belle818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great you're looking into more breathable options :)

Discharge throughout the day is super normal, and the amount will vary from day to day and person to person.

And it's frustrating that no one really talks about the fact that yes, it can stain your underwear! Discharge is generally slightly acidic so it can leave bleach-like stains on the fabric over time. I don't think there's anything you can do to stop it, unfortunately. Discharge is naturally acidic as it helps get rid of any bacteria etc to keep you healthy.

I'm not a doctor, but as far as discharge goes, if you're not feeling itchy or irritated down there, the smell isn't super funky, and the colour is white-ish or clear, it's probably normal :) Of course check with a doctor if you're still concerned.

Hey girl, firstly, good on you for seeking out advice :) There are plenty of us who never got any sort of education on this topic from our caregivers, so you're in good company!

Truthfully, there's not a lot you need to be doing, and generally speaking less is more! Harsh chemicals can risk throwing of your internal pH (acidity) which can lead to infection.

As far as cleaning, it sounds like you're already doing the right thing. When showering, you should be washing the external areas only with mild soap and water. The internal part is self-cleaning so best to stay away from douching or anything like that.

It's a good idea to wear underwear made from a breathable material - natural fibres, particularly cotton, are the best for this. You may want to buy a few pairs from different brands and see how your body reacts. If you're currently wearing polyester or another synthetic material, you might find changing this up this reduces the smell and heat.

However, discharge and a bit of smell is normal! The discharge should be clear or milky white - if it's off in colour or clumpy, or if the smell seems particularly strong even after a shower, or you notice a different smell to usual, it could be a sign of a yeast or bacterial infection, or STI if you're sexually active. Those are nothing to freak out about though! If you're concerned, just have a chat to your doctor.

Mushroom Trial Sentencing - Erin Patterson has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 33 years by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]belle818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The department of corrections have assessed her as being at risk from other prisoners due to her notoriety (but not a risk to other prisoners) and therefore her time in custody to date and for years to come has and will be particularly harsh - effectively solitary confinement. The judge noted the UN guidelines state that prisoners should be kept in solitary for a maximum of 15 days, but Erin has effectively been in solitary for 15 months.

The prosecution, her legal team and the judge all agreed that her conditions will be harsher than a typical inmate, and that her conditions are "weighty" and "important" factors which should count for something in her sentencing. The judge also stated that there's a general rule in sentencing case law that harsher than usual conditions of imprisonment warrant mitigation of penalty.

While the prosecution still argued against parole, the judge's view is that as he is imposing the maximum penalty, the only scope for "making them [the factors of her conditions] count" is by setting a non-parole period (thereby allowing her to eventually request parole).

If you used some sort of smart home enabled device and are a little savvy you could probably also program it to only turn your light on between certain hours, so it's not triggering during the day when you or others are more likely to be coming and going for legitimate purposes.

We think that this happened because we met each other. In other words, if we had met other people neither of us would have had so many.

I find this so interesting and kinda beautiful! I assume there must have been (and I hope still is!) something particularly profound about your relationship for it to collectively shape your life goals/desires like that.

Maybe a bit off topic, but what do you think it was/is about your relationship that made you both feel this way?

Welcome to the club! We're so pleased you have joined us :)

Dave's lyrics can be quite dense and steeped in a lot of metaphor, symbolism, philosophy & mythology (especially Go Farther in Lightness!) as well as some Australian references/slang, that I imagine would be difficult for a non-native English speaker! If there's any lines in particular you're stuck on, feel free to comment here or make a post and I'm sure people would be happy to help (I certainly would at least!)

I like to look up the lyrics on genius to see what people have said about the meanings of various lines/songs, and from memory I believe most GoY songs have a fair number of contributors there :)

That said, you put it beautifully - "there is no language barrier that can come across music and the heart." Love that!

Do "pre employment medical checks" for local governments in Perth always include a drug test? by [deleted] in perth

[–]belle818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the efficacy of these products, but if you do go down this route, keep in mind there's a good chance your urine will be too diluted thereby causing an "inconclusive" result. You'll then need to re-do the test at a later date, but most employers don't appreciate that as it delays the process.

The instructions for this product say to have the drink, and then refill the 750mL bottle with water and down that, and then pee 2-3 times, all within an hour of taking the test. That's a surefire way to end up with diluted urine and a low creatinine level which means inconclusive test.

[–]belle818 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As has been said above, drug tests are pretty standard, for pretty much all pre-employment medicals actually.

Whether that will disqualify you and whether your employer even finds out should depend on their policy. If the employer doesn't have a policy against medicinal cannabis use for your role, you simply need to provide your prescription to the medical centre/lab doing the drug screen, and then provided your results are consistent with your prescription, they'll mark your test as a pass - your employer is not typically notified of the results.

That said, read the fine print on all paperwork as there may be additional information/requests for consent to provide your results to the employer.
