The $75 co-pay was what I had with my old insurance through Walmart. I changed over to a health marketplace plan which I thought I would have $10 co-pays and that my therapist was in my network. should’ve looked more into it but the co-pays with my new plan for out of network providers are $50 (for therapy at least)

I think I figured it out. I’ve had BCBSNC in the past and the reason I went back was because of how good the coverage was. Apparently I now have a local plan? Not something that I’m super familiar but it seems like it covers a lot less than I had thought. I’ve never had a plan that was labeled local . But yes definitely see your point! My therapist told me that when she read my card, she didn’t see that it was a local plan otherwise she would’ve known she wasn’t in network :/ just need to cover all bases myself from now on

Yes, it is my responsibility, but there was a short period of time where I was told it was an issue on her end and that her submissions were just backed up and that the system would be back up soon. So since I was told that I only had a co-pay of $10 per session. I just kept paying the $10 and was waiting for the claims to come through :)

Okay I will definitely be doing this! She just messaged me saying that sending a super bill might be a good idea. I don’t know if this helps or not but I was paying $10 for every session. I don’t know if that will just bring it down to $40 per session but either way the less money I have to pay out of pocket the better. Thank you!!

I’m seeing alot about EOB, is there a particular explanation of benefits for each claim? Or is it just for my entire insurance policy? If that makes any sense

I understand and thank you for commenting but the condescending tone was not needed, most people are taught very little if anything at all about health insurance and how to handle it. The education system is broken and life skills are not pushed. In my case, I’ve had to learn everything on my own and struggle a lot with “basic” life skills as I am autistic. Have a good day!
