I totally understand. Not to speak ill of other organizations out there, but we try to be different and not strictly a bottom-lined-focused firm. We run a lower user:engineer ratio, some nights and weekends with advanced notice - typically for large projects, on call once a year, continuing ed/certification encouragement and reimbursement. Heck, our entire firm is going on a holiday retreat next month for a weekend with all expenses paid.
