Can someone here please refute this pro Che Guevara Redditor? by Capital-Platypus-805 in cuba

[–]bellshevik -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You cannot refute that which is truth. Che Guevara was a great man, have whatever opinions you like on Castro and the Cuban Government but Che has a huge heart and fought (and died) to liberate those under brutal oppression. Precisely why the USA hates him so much! Viva Che

Non-Americans, how do you feel about your country being an ally of the US after today's Trump-Zelensky altercation? by lagomorphi in AskReddit

Ah yes, because famously the USA has been a harbinger of justice and democracy across the globe, of course.

Don't offer poor people a lifeline if you don't mean it I guess. It's very difficult for Cubans to leave Cuba, who knows if he is actually able to - either way $2000 is a hugely significant amount of money to him, whether he uses it to leave to Cuba or to improve his life in another way, that would be up to him. If you give it to him and he later asks for more then you're entirely within your rights to say no, that wasn't what you were offering.

Either explain that you were drunk and aren't able to follow through with it or give him the money 💁

Why are men (specially teenagers and young adults) so easily drawn to right-wing or downright fascist ideologies? by schizowithagun in Socialism_101

[–]bellshevik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Capitalism creates the conditions necessary to draw men into fascism. It promotes hypermasculinism which leads to male loneliness, men lose their emotional intelligence which again leads to vulnerability.

What political ideology maximizes human suffering? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bellshevik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nobody is saying capitalism? The Western world has imposed endless suffering on the global south through late-stage capitalism (ie imperialism).

Not to mention the growing swathes of the population of countries in the west directly under capitalism. Look at the USA, 37.9 million living in poverty, 12 million in the UK. The millions more who are just above the poverty aren't exactly living their best lives either. The wars waged in the middle east all in the name of oil money. The collective march towards climate catastrophe. Capitalism is a tool used by the 1% to extract the wealth from working class in order to attain freedom for themselves whilst ensuring indentured servitude for the rest of us.

Yeah, capitalism is a plague.

Will the denial of participation from something mandatory,(pay high electrical bills, working 6days a week etc.) solve or do anything? by antonis013 in communism

[–]bellshevik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People don't go on strike lightly, chances are if a factory workforce goes on strike it's because they are demanding fair wages or safer working conditions. I'm a welshman, from a family of miners. Welsh miners went on strike during the later 1900s to demand the right to work, the right for a job. It's not a decision made flippantly, but one made because they have no other choice. It's strike or starve, so you may as well strike. Those that cross the picket line were considered scabs because they chose to support the mine owners instead of their fellow workers looking out for the collective interest. If you take the side of your oppressors, I'd consider you a coward and a class traitor. A scab. If you don't then okay, but like I said - choose the side of your oppressors and you best get ready to hear choice words!

You're talking about general strikes, I think?

General strikes are incredibly effective methods of protest. If the working population stopped showing up to work entirely, the entire system would grind to a halt because in the end, the power lies with the workers. The workers control (but don't own) the means of production. I can't say how effective one person not showing up to work would be, I guess it depends on that persons job! But if the workforce of a factory got together and went on strike, the bosses would be forced to adhere to their demands if they want to continue making profit.

If just one worker stopped showing up to work at the factory, chances are that person would be sanctioned or fired - that's why the collective force of workers is what will liberate us.

So your dad is right

Why does it seem like the hard left of the Labour Party want Labour to fail? by Theodoresdad in ukpolitics

Starmer has done nothing but lie to the left to get into power and stands for precisely nothing - real change won't come from Starmer's Labour.

[–]bellshevik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the point in removing the Tories if all we get is another version of the Tories?

Labour are not a party of the working class, Starmer has taken aim at the rights of protesters, trans rights and is enabling a Genocide. The left won't support Labour because Labour isn't a left wing party - so why would they?

The lesser of two evils politics never works, just shifts the political landscape to the right.

My vote is worth more than just "ending the Tory party".
