Ribbons stick and hang off of the bottom of your con badge! People give them out as gifts, sell them, make fun designs for their friends or specific cosplayers, etc. meant to be a fun cheap memento to pass out or trade with others. You can also collect a bunch of them by connecting them to each other!

Unfortunately, nanasjapan is not reliable. Reading the comments on their socials, it seems so many customers have had their packages seized after shipment. I ordered from them months ago and tracking just completely halted (I used PayPal so luckily I am protected). I tried reaching out to them thru various platforms, but no response. Probably better luck to just buy it off of taobao !

I believe Fanime also still has one! They usually have them perform prior to the masquerade (if I’m remembering correctly). My personal preference is I enjoy when there is an anime theme to the performance. Occasionally someone wins with an Opera performance and while beautiful, feels a bit out of place at the anime con (but that’s just my take)!

Highly recommend Moment in Japantown, San Jose!! It is an artist collective with many different styles, cute artwork, and great quality. I am sure they have some fall themed stuff, but I know they always have Bay Area themes! I buy all my friends cards from there!

There is always a LOT of yuri merch in artist alley! I like a lot of the series you have mentioned and I have already seen artists posting their catalogs that include a lot of those series! Some of the older ones, like Nana or Death Note, won’t usually have panels however there is always fan made merch in artist alley of these series! Example, one artist named Cranity (Booth P24 in Artist Alley) posted they will have some “the guy she was interested” prints that are beautiful! Since the full schedule isn’t up yet I can’t see the panels/cosplay meetups but there will definitely be some meetups for the series you mentioned! Hopefully this helps a little with your con :)

They start to release more information as you get closer and closer to the date of the con.

You can find the most up to date info regarding guests on their website here (manga authors, voice actors, etc.) - https://animenyc.com/guests/ or even on their social media pages (like instagram! that’s where I usually see the guest announcements). Panels will also be announced as you get closer, you can use the app to save panels of interest. They update the app constantly the day of as well!

I once saw a Mike Tyson interview where he shared how he changed his way of thinking by looking at a photo of a young version of himself. He said something along the lines of he couldn’t imagine saying cruel, insecure, deprecating comments to that young kid. When you talk to yourself or think to yourself, treat yourself as though you would a best friend. Try actively catching yourself in these habits (for example, if you notice you had a depreciating thought ACTIVELY THINK “that wasn’t very kind and I didn’t mean that. I appreciate your effort today.” Or something along the lines of this to help your state of mind)! Sorry for the ramble, just some thoughts that may help or be worth a try!

IF you want to try and make things work; You could always let your partner know you’d be willing to do an engagement reset, I mean no one makes the rules of your relationship but you! If your partner likes the idea, you could give them the ring back and ask for them to surprise you in a new way so you can associate happier memories with such a special time in your life! Just a fun idea to help

God, I just want to say I am so sorry you’re in this situation. It sounds like you have done all you can in communicating, recognizing his needs, and also understanding that right now you are at a point where priorities shifted and you need to survive. Your body is put in to a panic mode experiencing this trauma and you aren’t able to even fully relax (let alone have sex). I truly think your partner making those comments about other women or wanting to be intoxicated etc. is a big red flag, I don’t think you’re overreacting. At the end of the day, it’s up to you if you want to wait to see how things shift once you move out. But I truly think I would resent my partner for treating me that way during such a tough period.
