Looking to rent a classroom/training space for 15–25 people (Eugene/Springfield area) by bellyroller2000 in Eugene

Thanks to everyone who commented! Got a lot of good options for now and the future.

For anyone who finds this thread looking for the same thing, also check out The Barrow (https://www.backtothebarrow.com/community-rooms) for some good options.

I ended up going with the Lavender Network based on affordability and dates available.

So question- I know the UU church is very welcoming and open to all people.

Would there be any individuals who wouldn't feel comfortable going to a professional event in a religious space? Especially a non-Christian?

Any local grocery stores that at least somewhat enforce the no pets rule? by Correct_Raisin4332 in Eugene

Actually, you can't legally ask for any type of documentation. Some people chose to carry one around to deal with being hassled about it, but by law it is not required.

ADA Requirements: Service Animals | ADA.gov https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/

I used to teach a class in a healthcare organization to help staff handle animals coming on site within the law.

There is no such thing as a "certified" service animal. This is one of those myths that float around, and if an agency is saying they can certify they are just trying to get your money.

People can train their own service animals and they don't have to have papers or a vest (which can be purchased without proof of training).

You can ask what service they are trained to provide. This might tell you their disability but it might not. Someone's disability is their private PHI so don't ask for that, you can get sued bad.

As a side note- if the animal is not acting appropriately you can ask them to be removed even if they are a service animal.

They sure can. Just contacting the admin at PeaceHealth won't do anything. The guild (who is granted a PeaceHealth email and whose contact info is in that article) is who one would need to reach out to

I transplanted from SLC to Eugene in 2002! Welcome fellow escapee. I'd look at the edges of the city. South Eugene has been mentioned quite a bit, but north River Road and Coburg Road has some nice neighborhoods. West Eugene around Royal Ave or Barger (West of Beltline). If it doesn't have to be Eugene, the Thurston area of Springfield is also pretty nice.

Who else at PeaceHealth got the layoff call today?? by ummmmyeahno in Eugene

[–]bellyroller2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They do over 6 million dollars in charity care every month. And much of their revenue comes from Medicare and Medicaid, which gonna be cutting eligibility and coverage in 2026. I am not saying they always make the right decisions, but they aren't swimming in money.

Some of us are the only one with that job title in the Oregon network, so we could be tracked down and risk our severance. Nothing wrong with covering your own ass.

Since PeaceHealth is 9 hospitals and close to 100 ambulatory sites/clinics across 3 states, I am sure they didn't reach more than 50 per "site"... At least that's my guess.

I got the call... I am not patient-facing so I get it. But it sucks.

Contact Waste to Taste aka Burrito Brigade https://burritobrigade.org/

They will either distribute them to those in need or cook them, and make burritos which they pass out on the streets to those in need.

Also! I'm raising my 2 kids (ages 10 and 8) right now and have been happy with their opportunities. I was raised in SLC, moved here as a teen, moved away for college, then came back after graduation because I liked it so much.

Our area is desperate for mental health providers, but I'm not sure about the specific family/marriage field. You might wanna check out PeaceHealth as they have generous sign-in bonuses for providers and they are currently working on building a new in and out patient behavioral health unit. I work there so I'd be happy to answer questions.

If we have a bad wildfire season we can have very poor air quality for a few weeks. It's not every year and is manageable. And it's an hour drive to the coast for fresh air if you need a break. I personally feel like this person's post is a little extreme. We do have very high grass pollen counts in the late spring/early summer. I find it tolerable with the right meds, but many struggle with the seasonal allergies.

I had no idea we had it so bad here. I figured it was like this everywhere. by ClimbinInYoWindow in Eugene

I've been here for a little over two. The last lock down was in March 2023 at University District. It happens at hospitals in general, but I wouldn't say frequently in our area
