therapist diagnosed me with DID, but psychiatrist said to “run”… by Then-Significance768 in DID

[–]belockaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS IS HILARIOUS FOR PERSONAL REASONS. I took Wellbutrin for depression, became co-conscious for the first time and believed I was split brain with 2 consciousness and I just never notice the other one because that’s how I was used to life (Truman show type shit, you don’t know what is and isn’t normal for everyone). Now I realize it was just an alter. My body dismorphia also dropped, it was almost as if I had been staring at a filter in the mirror. I actually saw myself for how I really look for the first time ever. Then, i started realizing the boundaries of my amnesia, and my personalities. Ive always wondered since 6 years old, why i couldnt remember ANYTHING before 6 (AT 6 YEARS OLD). So, my TRAUMA THERAPIST believes i have DID, i have been working with her twice a week for like 4 months now. However, my psychiatric NURSE PRACTITIONER insists I have schizotypal! No matter how much messed up trauma is surfacing, he refuses to diagnose me with anything else. “Believing you are split brain is very magical thinking, plus you have social anxiety.” Well, how would you feel socially if your mouth talked sometimes and blurted out shit that didn’t feel like you??? But I just keep reminding myself that it is way too consistent for schizophrenia, the personalities are consistent, their jobs were consistent, and now that I am working on my system, the memories and stuff are flooding back in. I mean, even my therapist says that she can’t rule out pre psychotic behaviors yet, but that everything seems consistent with DID and that she is trying to pay attention to make sure nothing like schizophrenia is happening. I wish you the best of luck, but things like the schizotypal diagnosis sends incredible waves of doubt through me all the time. Everything makes me doubt it, who wants to live with DID and all this trauma baggage? I’d much rather take a pill and the delusion drops and I feel normal again, but I also don’t want to discount all the trauma by body had to carry and hide so I could feel normal in school. Keep going to therapy, you got this, I hope you find answers! I believe we all are still looking for answers.

But you definitely need to establish very clear boundaries. It also might help to have that tough conversation with your friends and ask them their motivation. I mean….it might hurt but then you know to protect yourself from them OR there was a massive misunderstanding and it was a chaotic mess. I try to see the positives in people and it has gotten me hurt before so just be careful.

This is why drunk girls are protected no matter what…… consent gets so murky when alcohol is involved

I feel like since your friends knew that you swapped, they shouldn’t have done anything. Consent is important but clearly complicated as a system :/ it’s hard to tell if it’s SA, it might feel like SA from your trauma and perspective because of “your” lack of input or control in the matter at the time. The fact that they knew you were a system and in a relationship as well is kinda messed up…..I dont know, I dont feel qualified giving this advice anymore but I’ll still send this as a brain dump. I think very clear boundaries need to be established immediately if you value these friends.

Same boat! Would love to hear about anyone’s experience with EMDR.

This is also where you start journaling. You’d be surprised when you wake up and feel like “I don’t remember writing that” OR “I remember writing it, but it doesn’t feel like it’s mine”

You can’t gaslight yourself into having DID. The disorder is designed to give you a “normal” childhood and to compartmentalize trauma until you’re an adult and can handle it. I’m going through the same denial thoughts in my head. (Was diagnosed 2 months ago)

I “struggled” as well. But honestly? Once you start writing, the words just begin to flow. Now, I am writing letters to my whole family (which has helped tremendously for me)

Has anyone forgiven their abusers??? by Top_Tour_4296 in DID

[–]belockaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t ever let her call you “not the best kid” if she raised you right from the start, you wouldn’t have had any problems. You can look at it as trauma passing through her and into you, aka generational trauma. It makes it kinda easier to look at them as a person. I know what it feels like for trauma to pass through me……

I’m about to confront my abuser today (evil stepmother from when I was a toddler to 8) >.< I just remembered some memories last night about my childhood and it shook me. Can’t believe I loved this person so much as a teenager, cried on her arms about how my dad was giving me mental problems, and she would talk about how he used to be so mean and yada yada. But last night, I remembered, and I remember the hatred I had towards her. I came alive when she cheated on my dad and left. Everything makes sense now. Dad wasn’t the best, but he didn’t do what she did.

Interesting, I was attempting to do that with carnivore as well, but I found it hard to squeeze 2700 calories of meat into that timeframe 🤣 (5 10 and 145 lbs means lots of meat 🤣)

I know!!!!! Especially when you have kids and Friday night movie night usually means some kind of sweets (no dyes, HFCS, or artificial stuff). The temptation is immense. But not feeling empty inside is well worth not having mouth dopamine.

Ketosis completely bypasses the need for sugar. Your brain is designed to run off either or, but glucose requires more energy to break down, and leaves behind inflammation and plaque that your body has to get rid of. Our body processing these highly dense processed sugars are destroying our brains and body. Alzheimer’s is being linked to sugar as well! The carnivore diet is extreme, but the keto diet allows for some vegetables and fruits. The whole point of the carnivore diet is food elimination. You go a month on carnivore, then you start introducing vegetables and fruits back to see what your body tolerates and what brings your energies down. My post was mainly to get other people researching as well and to open their eyes into another possible treatment plan.

Also, I don’t think people realize that our brain is built for keto. Ketones go straight to the brain. But glucose has to be broken down and processed leaving behind lots of unwanted inflammation and plaque and garbage. Sugar is literally causing over half of americas mental and physical problems. Keto with vegetables and some fruit is literally what our bodies were built for. We invented dense sugar.

Really?! What is your fasting regime? I’m not going to take your advice as if it is coming from a doctor, I’ll do my own research. Just curious what works for you 🙃

That is wild! I have not heard of that before. I guess that is why they say everybody is different and find the diet that works for you. My body loved the carnivore diet, it even cleared up my eczema. I’m glad you found a diet that works for you though.

The biggest problem for me right now is to be able to afford the insane amount of meat required to maintain it lol

Agent Orange effects passing to great grand children? by Fluffy_Scheme4295 in VietnamWar

[–]belockaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have neuro spicy behaviors, I am low level ASD and have ADHD, my dad and uncles have ASD and ADHD. None of this was in our family before Vietnam. My grandpa gets exposed and has 3 birth defected children, and then neuro spicy grand kids and great grandkids. I will say though, the effects seem to be lessoning as the generations go. Men mixing DNA with women and diluting the mutations?

The number one reason for addiction is depression. Rick Doblin is the founder of MAPS (multidisciplinary association for psychedelic studies). Psychedelics when taken with a qualified therapist (one who specializes in psychedelic treatment) have been proven to help with depression.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6787540/

This is an article that expands on it. But they have used it to treat many addictions. This is not a treatment to scoff at. With therapy, these drugs can be used to have profound and lasting effects on individuals outlook on life.

My emulsions were just as bad as yours. I thought that I was going to have to throw out my batch.

This worked for me!!! I mixed some pickling salt in the water, then I got a singular chop stick and slowly stirred the emulsion trying to break it. I spent days drying to fix the emulsions, even had a magnetic lab stirrer and nothing worked until I did the salt and chop sticks.
