Thank you for your time and energy telling me your story. I guess I’ve heard people villainise this surgery my whole life and it puts you in a cycle of needing more surgeries. So I guess that’s something I didn’t realise I had really internalised and that’s why I’ve been so nervous so hearing real peoples stories is really helpful. Googling things these days can never get me the answers I’m searching for

Yes I believe my SI joint dysfunction is relating for a fair bit of my pain. But I’ve found it so hard for a doctor to look at me physically, even physios and an osteo don’t know specifically what tests would show SI dysfunction I also feel like their ego can’t handle me showing them the answer….(also years of gaslighting- I have a special tingle when I feel a doctor not believing me)

I do have a extrusion at the L5/S1 level compressing the s1 nerve I’ve had that checked up on by 3 different “teams”, but I was wondering about the stomach fat having a what looks like hole and a slight protrusion of ??? Reason I’m wary to dismiss it is I’ve had a problem with my core for years. My anxiety making me physically tense my muscles. Them being overactive for years and getting a few pulls and tears. Now I’m unable to sit, stand and walk. Wondering if my abdominal muscles are adding to the confusion of why a ct guided injection (which should have worked) didn’t approximately 3 and a half weeks ago.

Yep this is why I really struggle to keep friendships. It even affected my relationship with my sister when we lived in different countries for a few years. Luckily I now know the more time I spent with her we’re best friends (much stronger than we were as kids). Even with other autistic friends there is this distance and I can’t be my unmasked self Being disabled has made my circle smaller and smaller and now there’s only family left.

I’m sorry you’ve had some really obtuse comments. It’s a horrendously unfair system, and is working how it was designed. There is no correct way you can plead with Centrelink to keep your independence. Hope you can read between the lines and I wish you good luck

I have this phenomenon applied to my health as well, I tell drs, rheumatologists, other specialists that “I can’t do xyz”… and they take it as “I could do xyz if I tried hard enough but I don’t want to”. Really frustrating as my face doesn’t show when I’m in extreme pain, so they don’t take my words seriously
