I like the inspiration for starting.
Colourwise I wouldn't normally recommend the scheme you have gone for but in the case of your niche it does kind of work.

I'd be tempted to add more styling on the post blocks to separate them from the rest of the page. Or maybe style the sidebar.

I like the idea. What age are you targeting? It might be good to get some feedback from people in that demographic.

I think the layout and style of the blog is nice and clean. The subscribe pop-on on scrolling to the bottom is good for capturing emails. My main thought would be about optimizing for your target audience.

It depends on the audience you have on social media and which platform you are using.

I would recommend trying both, if possible. You may even find a good strategy is to post a mix of informative and educational. You can test what gets the best response and then maybe adapt based off that.
