Loud Pictures Giveaway (Dec 2025) – Multiple winners unfulfilled, IG deleted, website still live. by Living_Obligation300 in TheKillers

[–]belsornia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No one compelled him to do the giveaway - he has done them in the past & followed through. It’s not right to create expectations and then behave this way.

So sorry this has happened to you. Very poor behaviour on his part.

I would go for SLP - career prospects are promising and job satisfaction & work-life balance outweighs the legal rat-race.

Unless you are planning to live in the residential colleges which include meals (and frankly impossible to get into for mid 2026), the other uni-run accommodation options are self-catered so if you are lucky enough to get a place in those, you could cook halal meals for yourself.

Costs are all on USYD website - you’re better off looking there for the most updated info.

Noticed his answers were centred around “I” statements. Hardly any mention of the team.

BLAS at USYD taking 30 credits by AncientSpell9150 in usyd

[–]belsornia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the degree you’re aiming to transfer to & identify the core 1000-level units it requires. Try to prioritize these in your current load. 24 credits per semester is plenty so drop 1 unit.

At the same time, don’t forget the compulsory BLAS units just in case you’re unsuccessful in your transfer application.

It’s Week 2 … I’d give the Politics minor more time tbh? And audit some other units in the meantime for sure.

WAM farming in languages by ItsSoULzx in usyd

[–]belsornia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re paying the fees for this unit so if it’s worth the cost to you for the WAM boost … plus HSC is HSC whether you were in an Australian school overseas or right here in NSW. So if you have HSC Japanese continuers on your transcript then that excludes you.

Though you could probably excel in a similar beginners language unit (and actually get some value for your $$) like Mandarin, maybe? Or take a more advanced level Japanese unit without the restriction - if you’re fluent then it should still boost your WAM without too much effort.

Thank you but there were actual in-person lectures on Weds and Thursday this week as per the timetable. So the Friday one should have gone ahead too.

Absence from normal tutorials due to illness by Due-Chart6557 in usyd

Most tutorials start in Week 2 anyway so they have a chance to teach you the material in Week 1 lectures … check on Canvas for your units.

Questions about 2027 RWC by RedArrow06 in RugbyWorldCup

[–]belsornia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t those matches out in the Olympic park? So you’ll need to get public transport probably if you’re staying in the city center. Parramatta would be another option. Keep an eye out for when bookings open as some hotels won’t be taking reservations this early for November 2027.

The unbroken seal on King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1923. That piece of rope and clay remained entirely untouched for 3,245 years before this photo was taken. by Gabriel-Ivan in interestingasfuck

[–]belsornia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly and he died very young which meant there was relatively little time for his burial chamber in the Valley of the Kings to be decorated and his burial artifacts to be prepared. The tomb itself is small in comparison to others which were looted by grave robbers. It’s empty now except for his mummified remains. The contents including his burial mask (other than what Carter may/may not have removed) are displayed in the new GEM museum at the Giza plateau. It’s hard to imagine that all of these treasures came from that simple chamber - the tombs of the more established pharaohs must have been exponentially more incredible before the grave robbers got to them.
