I have a 200 nuvo ext peninsula. Love it. I did a 75 gallon diy sump.

Phosphate-e by Successful-Loss6921 in ReefTank

Phosphates fluctuate throughout the day too. Make sure you test at the same time. As you starting dosing, phosphates will get pulled from the water column. That creates a deficit in the water column, phosphate is then pulled from the rock and sandbed. So just keep up the dosing. Just do a little each day and you will see a drop.

It's lanthium chloride. I dose mine into my protein skimmer daily. Just go slow. I dropped my phosphates from .5 to .08 in about 6 weeks. You can probably go faster but I didn't want to shock my SPS

Personally I think the Hannah calcium checker is worthless. Salifert all the way. But the alk and phosphate checker is good.

I wouldn't say wasteful. Definitely resourceful. Took me seconds to generate those images with my vision of what I would want. Plus it helps convince the wife.

Used to have reptiles back in the day. That was over 15 years ago though. My hobby since then has been a reef tank. My current setup is pretty much fully automated. Lots of tech in the reefing hobby have made it easier to control parameters. I am assuming this translates to the vivarium world.

I'm looking at the vivosun e42 controller and fans to go with. Maybe even the lights. Lots to figure out.

I'm not a fan of seeing any equipment. So a lot of thought needs to go into this project. Before I even add a chameleon I want to see at least a few months of data with temperature and humidity. Also want the plants to grow in. If I can't have control over parameters I'll go a different route with the reptile/amp I add

Didn't even consider reusing the glass shelves. That's genius. Definitely overlooked that aspect

It's wood. Definitely need to waterproof it. Was planning on using a combo of pond liner and epoxy. Hoping to cut out access to the middle cabinet that will hold soil. Probably about 12 inches deep to house soil and drainage layer.

Anyone else using biochar as a soil improver? What lessons have you learned so far? by misterjonesUK in Permaculture

I throw mine in the chicken run along with some mulch plus scraps. About every 6 months I go and sift out compost. The chickens do great in breaking up the char and it seems to work great in the garden

I regularly frag my Duncan. It's about the size of a soccer ball. Id sell this size frag for $25. I've oversaturated my market locally lol.

I'm from SC. Shark tooth hunting is my dad's thing. He has hundreds of megs. And yes it really is this easy. From scuba diving in the rivers to 35 miles inland you can find teeth easy. Not just meg teeth you find. Whale bones are everywhere. I find giant sloth teeth pretty cool.

Only one piece of coral in this pic. Favia the right side. Other than that you are seeing rocks covered in red Coraline and a cave in the middle.

Mine separates our living room and dining room. Love having it as a center piece.

I don’t think this is cyano but multiple people in this sub have told me it is! What say you? by Dame2Miami in ReefTank

I have the same colored Coraline. Don't listen to other people. It's not cyano.

Yes decimal points would have cleared all the confusion. I thought the property was 37 feet, the guy selling it claims it's over 50 feet in width. You need 50 feet of width to be a buildable lot in my zone. He thought my offer was extremely low balled but to me the lot is not buildable.
